I hadn't been back to BGW for so long in part because they had no wooden coasters. Wooden coasters will always be my favorite. Of course I have no excuse any more (other than distance). Anyway, glad they put one in. Definite improvement to the park and I look forward to riding it. Hopefully next year.

grizzly has totally gone to heck this year.

Come now, that’s what makes it fun! :p

Personally, I think InvadR is a bit overrated on here. It’s a great family coaster, but it’s nothing more than that, in my opinion. I find its duration a bit short and there aren’t really any elements I find intriguing besides the first drop and the final helix.

It’s great at filling the gap it’s designed to fill, but I respectfully disagree with those who view it as a great coaster in itself.

It's more a matter of opinion, but I greatly enjoy what Invadr accomplishes in such a short circuit compared to other coasters which have dead or dull spots through their layouts without actually establishing a "break" point.

For InvadR's length, it goes beginning to end without taking a break and constantly doing something interesting. That is why I enjoy it so much.

I always appreciate a good ride that isn't necessarily the tallest and fastest, but has a good layout and timing. Just because it would be considered a family ride, doesn't mean it isn't a good coaster. And of course it could be considered overrated, but that is easy when it is probably the best wooden coaster within a few hours drive. I certainly prefer InvadR to any KD Woodie.

I don't think anyone besides like Zachary and maybe two other people knew tbh ?

You know how sad that is though? It should be a core part of InvadR's experience and identity. I feel something when I hear Apollo's lift music and I feel something when I hear Pompeii's music. I used to feel something when I heard DarKastle's music. Those unique auditory cues from all around the park are dying—some, like apparently in the case of InvadR's, before they even make it into people's memories. ?

There's a ton of discussion about Apollo's lift music right now in its thread, but has anyone heard InvadR's lift music lately? Does anyone know if it is operated by controls like Apollo's is?
I would guess InvadR has a pushbutton panel for the audio system, but I have only been in the booth once (when I took my profile pic) so I don't recall. Verbolten has a separate touchscreen HMI that controls the audio and I don't recall seeing something like that in there, but that was over 2 years ago anyways.

Like most, I presume, I never knew it had lift music. But, based upon the non-effort of the pre-recorded boarding spiel and the stenciled Lowe's backyard fence "theming", it's probably a download from a "royalty-free" website. ?

But @Zachary is ? right. Audio is an important part of theming. Sounds effects, music, and voice acting trigger the "mind's eye", kick-starting your imagination and immersing you into the story...

The Operations people need to stop this inconsistency. All the "100's" have a responsibility to insure the "show" is presented right every day, every open hour. I recall working at Disney and worked a full shift in front of "It's A Small World". Drove me frickin' nuts. But, could you imagine if a cast member just switched it off because "it's boring"?

Sorry, sir. Busch is no Disney. It tried to be, and got arguably pretty close at one point, but it is no longer.

Not being a Disney park shouldn't preclude BGW from taking simple, cheap steps to become more akin to one though...

It's so easy to have a policy in place to...
  • Ensure all ride effects and audio are functioning each morning
  • Prevent anyone from turning them off without cause

I know, but what I am trying to say is that if you went to BGW expecting Disney, you will be disappointed. If you go in expecting Six Flags, you will be very much be pleased. Unfortunately, the park has been moving more towards the latter than the former in recent years and in my opinion, not having lift music on a coaster is the least of my concerns.

It's kinda sad that I think some of these decisions aren't trickle down, but rather 'trickle up' issues. Someone was a ride op, got moved up, didn't like the music/message, made it ok for the new ride op's to turn it off or do their own, until they get moved up so much that it's close to across the park policy. I mentioned it, but it's not like we're talking about a process so time consuming and expensive that someone at the top looked at it and decided to stop the practice.

I never said they are nor should be. I totally agree with @Zachary. An attraction should be 100% show ready at all times.

I know you don't work there any longer, but that's the type of complacency that seems to have infested the park. If a ride is designed to have music, effects, etc. then it should be presented that way each and every day. Just because "they aren't Disney" doesn't mean they don't have to try.

I can't miss something I never experienced. I can imagine what it's like, but it's clearly not a deal breaker either as it's still my favorite ride in the park.

My biggest complaint about lift hill music is that it makes me harder to hear in my selfie videos.
