RE: Project 2017: InvadR

If I had to take a guess as to why it was taken off it would be that after a while whatever they did to mount it to the car became loose or broke. And of that's the case it could have damaged the bear. So it's currently being repaired.

That would ve my guess to. I looked at dow the bear was mounted and it appears to bolted to a steel plate similar to the one in this picture but flat. If the dragon cane loose I would find it likely that bear is in danger of a similar event.

RE: Project 2017: InvadR

I see people touching the dragon almost every time I'm there. I even often see people grabbing it like it's there to assist on getting in or out. I don't know how tough the material is. Somebody is bound to break off something at some point with all the people doing that.

Yep. Also rode during the soft open. It was a good ride. That area of the park is kind of dark and added the thrill of not knowing what is coming up. However after a lot of rides I can see how that might go away after you are more familiar with the layout of the ride.

Nicole, TPF, Kyle, and I got a ton of late night rides (10 to 11pm-ish) at ACE Dives the other weekend. Incredible experience—especially with so many normal guest area lights off. Those were easily the best rides I've had on InvadR and, honestly, that ERT session was the best I've ever had on any coaster.

It was phenomenal! The ride was running at its very best. Not to mention several repeat rides with no line to sit wherever we pleased was a great bonus. I'm with Zachary on this one, easily the best rides on InvadR.

RE: Project 2017: InvadR

I like the ride, but not because I find it spectacular. It's fun, and provides an experiance Busch Gardens has been missing for some time now. Personnaly, I expected the airtime to be considerably stronger than the several rides I've experienced thus far; however, I really do like the lack of banking as it differentiates itself from other woodies. As for the Virginia woodies, I still prefer Grizzlys true classic feel.

Final verdict: A good ride, though nothing to write home about. I probably wouldn't wait in the minimal 45 minute queue when I could ride coasters like Alpengeist and Verbolten (My 2 park favorites) multiple times in the same time length.

Very solid family coaster, but a 6/10 for me.

Got to hit the park for about 45 minutes - an hour after Water Country on Monday. In those 45 mins we got to walk on InvadR twice and do Griffon twice as well. Beautiful day. They weren't night rides sadly as the park closed at 7PM but they were "dusk" rides I suppose and they were awesome. Can't wait to ride at night.

RE: Project 2017: InvadR

Speaking of night rides on InvadR -- don't forget this week is PASSMEMBER EXTRA RIDE TIME -- ALL WEEK! June 19-25, one extra hour after regular park closing time. https://seaworldparks.com/buschgardens-williamsburg/PassMembers?utm_source=Silverpop&utm_medium=Email&utm_campaign=00611157%20-%20BGW_May_ERT-LRT%20(1)&utm_content=DIGITAL&spMailingID=10866478&spUserID=MTkyNTAxNjM3MjM5S0&spJobID=1141664999&spReportId=MTE0MTY2NDk5OQS2

You will get all the night riding you want with virtually no wait. This is a great perk and I hope plenty of passmembers will be interested enough to attend to encourage the park to keep holding special passmember events.

I plan on being there tonight in this not-as-hot weather.

Let us know how this goes. I live too far away to take advantage but like you would love for this type of perk to be more frequent.

mountaineers, I wrote up the first one in what is now post #58 in this thread. The ERT was fantastic and I bet tonight will be, as well. :)

ETA: Last night (6/20/17)'s ERT was great fun! The staff do their best to make it fun, with lots of patter over the microphone and joking around with guests. Good times.
