RE: Project 2017: InvadR

I was there at the late ride time for pass members yesterday (Saturday) and I echo what others have said. It was pretty awesome. Got there around 9 and rode Apollo's, Verbolten, and Griffon along with a few other flats (Flying Machine, Tradewinds) within an hour. All were walk-ons. No lines whatsoever. It was extremely peaceful in the park, which was phenomenal. By 10:15, we got to Invadr and the line attendant asked for our passes and let us through. There were only maybe 10-15 people there in line. We went on 3 times and then headed out. As a local who goes to the park at least once a week, this was one of the better park experiences I've had. It sort of felt like we owned the park in a way just walking on to rides as we pleased without waiting in any lines. I'm interested in seeing how the rest of these extended ride times for pass members go as far as crowds. With how light the crowds were for it on Saturday, I wonder if this is something the park would even consider doing again in the future. Personally, I loved it, but from a business perspective, I'm not so sure it would benefit the park.

KD does ERT very regularly. So, I imagine the cost of running the rides is balanced by the increased number of people in the park either before or after.

The park attendance overall was so light I think that is why the extra ride time crowd was light, too. I sure hope they keep having these events!

I imagine it keeps people in the park longer then then would have been before, and perhaps the theory is, they spend more time shopping. Or maybe it is just considered a "good will gesture" for pass members. Frankly given how badly the pass member privileges have been eroded over the years, that is not a bad thing.

RE: Project 2017: InvadR

Yeah, it definitely benefits the park if plenty of people show up for it, but I'm not sure there were enough people there Saturday night to make up for the cost of operations for the extra hour. I'm hoping it was just weather related since it was a damp, chilly night. I remember as much as I was enjoying having the park so empty, I couldn't help but think that if every night of extended ride times is like this, the park is probably going to lose money with this promotion and may not consider it in the future. I hope I'm wrong though because I really enjoyed it.

The dragon is missing from the front of the Viking train. Somebody probably broke it already.

On the bullshit scale, this clearly marks as "Complete and Total Bullshit."

I am trying to imagine how this could possibly get 'broken'. I'm at a loss. Anybody have any idea how it got broken?

That is simple the villagers witj their 16th and 17th century weapons are slaughtering the Vikings and their 11th century weapons. Clearly the dragon is just collateral damage.

Here is a close in shot of what the front of the train currently looks like if you are looking for clues as to what happened. I don't see any but maybe someone else will.

If I had to take a guess as to why it was taken off it would be that after a while whatever they did to mount it to the car became loose or broke. And of that's the case it could have damaged the bear. So it's currently being repaired.
