I could be wrong, but I think Hoopla is saying that he feels bad for whoever made the tree-like thingy Chickenking found (assuming an artist even made it), since nobody is buying it because it's so weird an reminiscent of the cheesy Illuminights stuff. I think there's some confusion though, because it's my understanding that the tree isn't actually for sale, it's just a rack to hold other merchandise, like the stone lion statue birdbath-container that holds little rubber toys in Pot o' Gold in Killarney. Hope this helps. ;)

^ Actually I think it is cool that people even spotted it. I used to do store displays at Electronics's Boutique. I always thought is was neat to hear feedback on what works and what doesn't. Means people actually care about how your store looks.

I think I saw another tree thing in the window of Tweedside Gifts today. I was on the train and I need to go back and verify it, but I am pretty confident that it was another tree thingy.

There is a tree in Tweedside. A very large metal tree with jewelry on it. You saw it correctly.

Just to transition the topic back to Illuminights....

Glow Tree- Metal tree in Union Jacks- Large Metal Jewelry tree in Tweedside Gifts- Tweedside Gifts is by the Tweedside train station- the train closes early for Illuminights due to the fireworks... and

BOOM!

Back on topic.

So I saw the fireworks for the second time tonight, and it's a very good, well-paced show. The display is bright, bold, and enjoyable; I like how they kept it going by using variations such as ones that made whistling noises, ones that strobed, and of course the unique shapes (smiley face). Some of the explosions were the largest in diameter I think I've ever seen in a fireworks show. I'd say it's even on par with Grand Illumination at Colonial Williamsburg, which I am a loyal attender of. Props for making it a great show, but I'd still be completely fine with only doing it on weekends. Every night is just unnecessary in my opinion.

I see it like this: Entertainment burns $10K each night during summer, except for 3rd and 4th of July when it is $15K. Just think about that when you watch them. It might just bring a tear to your eye :p It only takes them seven minutes to burn all that cash; 12 minutes on 3rd/4th of July.

However, the finale is totally amazing.

We got to see the grand finale last night at the top of the lift hill on Apollo's Chariot. Truly amazing... I agree, on having the fireworks on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. The money they would save could be put into other shows for the event.. JMO

BTW, I just remembered to post about something that has REALLY been bothering me. Where the hell is that Arch Triumph de whatever (mini Eiffel Tower wannabe) thingy in France for IllumiNights last year? Of all the decorations that could have been, I truly enjoyed seeing that erection as I crossed the tracks. I do realize that some other things are in its place, but surely it could have been utilized SOMEHOW. I guess it will appear in a haunted house somewhere. :(

Isn't there a thread somewhere for storage? If there is, I can't seem to find it. I would like to talk about this there though.

Here's a teaser:
