RE: IllumiNights 2012 Rumors

Well, I remember there was plenty of pieces scattered throughout Festa, but from what I saw there was not really majorly huge chunks, it was more like pieces the size of regular sticky notes lying everywhere.

I think the fireworks would not prove to be a problem. It looked like Roman Rapids was still running some nights, even during the fireworks.

I think it would prove more useful to have one big show still. If they could produce a show in the Royal Palace Theater that will run Summer nights, then you could have a mini-fireworks display shoot from the top of the theater. They have done the mini-fireworks before with previous shows at the Royal Palace Theater. Plus, I am sure if they try hard enough they can try to recreate their own french circus, similar to Imaginique but not quiet.

RE: IllumiNights 2012 Rumors

Well I remember standing on the Italy/Oktoberfest bridge and looking up at the fireworks and getting a load of crap in my eyes from all the debris. I think they would keep the line of people, and just stop sending trains at 9:30, then do test runs after the show then resume normal operation afterwards. (After all the park closes at 10pm most nights of illuminights)

RE: IllumiNights 2012 Rumors

If they are even more cautious, they would probably do a quick track walk (themed bridge, launches, brake runs) to make sure nothing crucial (LSMs, brakes, etc) is compromised... I don't think that a train running over a small piece if cardboard on regular track would do anything harmful to the ride

RE: IllumiNights 2012 Rumors

^It would take about ten minutes to close down, and ten minutes to test. They would not beabout to get people on until ~9:50, at that point there would be no point in running it.

RE: IllumiNights 2012 Rumors

Plus, they would have to do test runs anyways before they put people back on or not... It's a requirement for shutdowns anyway

RE: IllumiNights 2012 Rumors

I see it like this, the problem is basically the location of the fireworks and where can they put them so there won't be any debris that compromises anything? Well, here goes our option list.

Fireworks Option List:

1 - Have mini fireworks set off near each Illuminights show.

2 - Move the main fireworks display.

3 - Close Verbolten early for the rest of the night.

4 - No Illuminights, or at least no fireworks.

What can we add, and what looks most likely to happen?

Less to shut down... It doesn't take that long to unload everyone and close empty harnesses... I saw that the estimated ride time was about 3:25, so that's how long it will take 1 train to get all the way arround the track, so it would take about <5 minutes for them to unload, the fireworks last 8 mins, then about 10 minutes to test (and lets say do a short track look over), then they are back up at about 9:50 (with hopefully a 15 min line!!! One can hope!) so estimated shutdown time is 23 minutes, not 30

I say move the main fireworks to a barge, and move the FHP display to on top of darkastle (or at least the parking lot behind DK)... If they want a resort with the entrance with a main entrance @ FHP, they will have to move those fireworks anyway

RE: IllumiNights 2012 Rumors

They let you get in line at 10pm, even if there is a 2 hour line.. (happened during HOS) so it's not like only 2 people will be able to ride after the fireworks. I say let people stay in line then when they reopen allow new guests in until 10 like normal

RE: IllumiNights 2012 Rumors

I would say keep the entrance open til park close anyway, then just let the line go through before the put the trains away for the evening... Just like they do with the other rides

RE: IllumiNights 2012 Rumors

Maybe they can re-think Illuminights? Like re-plan possible locations as to where the fireworks can take place?

I meant ten minutes to close down for the fireworks... woops should have made that more clear. Also you said about 23 minutes, arent fireworks at 9:30? So 23 minutes would put it at about 9:50, which is not 30 minutes.

RE: IllumiNights 2012 Rumors

Well, if you think about it, with all the pyrotechnics done in Ireland, they could probably move some of the fireworks to the rooftops of some larger buildings throughout the park. For example, Globe Theater, Festhaus, Abbeystone Theater, Castle O'Sullivan, Curse of DarKastle. As far as places besides the rooftops, if the Royal Palace Theater were not in use, that could be a possible location, behind Italy (currently), off a barge (previously mentioned), perhaps cear out an area of woods in the large, vast unused land owned by the park?

RE: IllumiNights 2012 Rumors

Can the fireworks they use fire wrong? If it was on a building and it fired the wrong way, that would be bad... I dont see them shooting off the main fireworks from a building, for the reason I just said and it would be difficult to get that many fireworks ontop of a building every night.

I know... I got 30 min from, 10min before (9:20), ~8 min of fireworks (30-38), and 10 min to open back up (38- 48)... Still that's 28 (rounds to 30) minutes

RE: IllumiNights 2012 Rumors

Yeah, so for the main display, they could use some undeveloped land across the Rhine River that they own, or even if they shoot them far enough back behind Italy, perhaps?

As a red neck who bought fireworks from PA, I would say yes.

Well, with the pyrotechnics the park has, they are very skilled and careful, I am sure that would never happen. Anyways, like I said, there are other options.
