I would love to see layouts for all of the old mazes. Distorted Dimension had one of the most elaborate facades in Howl-O-Scream history. Then again, I guess other than the mazes in that area, and Tormented Tales, the park has never attempted to do facades for their houses. Most of the time, their approach is to take an area which already lends itself to a good atmosphere. If they did a facade in the style of KD (leaving behind very obvious seams and forklift holes), I would just laugh, and say it's a waste. If they could make it look at least as good as "Masquerage", then it might even be helpful.

Its not the lack of facades that bothers me about the event. It's waiting in the employee areas, with piles of trash and scrap metal/tires laying around. These waiting areas are worse than being packed in at the Metro in DC. At least there are some posters on the wall to look at there. Serving me beer while in line doesn't make up for the lack of theming here. Although I have to be honest, I did hear a speaker with some creepy sounds coming out of it while waiting for 13 last year. Its the little things right!

The clowns were always my favorite part of HOS because they were the only things in the park that were genuinely unsettling to me.

The point is they we're TOO effective. They lost business in Festa due to the clown scaring people away who otherwise would buy food games and merch there.It was all money.

But in all honesty i guess it is a money game. Its kinda like the tree falls in the forest question. If a person is too scared to spend time/money in an area during a Haunt, does the park suffer or did they accompish an overall goal? I think its a good thing that they scare ppl. I would go into a clown infested area during a haunt i might be jumpin out of my skin scared but thats what i paid for. And i like to be scared.

It's bittersweet to me that the event goes to Nov. 1st. I'm leaving town for college this year, and though I have a fall break (Oct. 16-19) and will be able to go to HoS, I won't be able to go the day after Halloween. In past years I've gone every weekend.

Construction Update! Went to the park today and took a variety of Pictures!

First, a little note. If you're at the park today, good chance you can see Caqtacombs facade exposed for the General Public to see and/or wander in. Nobody is around its just open andn very accesible for GP.

I am one of people who hate clowns. I think they are creepy, but not really scary. Interesting I just found out last night from my father that I have always felt that way. The topic of clowns came up and I mentioned that I did not like them. Dad say, "yeah you have always felt that way." It seems I used to ask for their removal when I was a kid.
