It definitely had the atmosphere down but it was missing an attraction. All the other Terror-Tory's have an attraction. (MSONRR,ROAE,ETC) A house would go nicely in the Le Scoot queue, as to if their willing to take the risk and put a house back their, I could see that.

I've often thought of the old Eagle's Nest area as a potential place for a super-short house to be squeezed in there. It's not like the park is really in the market to be adding new houses right now, though.

I would add a real monster running about causing chaos. Perhaps the monster tries attacking the researchers and running away from the military men? It could be like how the characters in Ripper Row used to interact with each other.
Exactly. They could have a real monster in his cage like the prop and have him reach out trying to grab you. They could put a manual door release the actor could step on to release themself with and terrorize the area every now and then. Then the guards with the shock sticks could corrall him back in to his cage....wash, rinse, repeat every so often. It could be like a little show.

And as for the DJ spinning spooky dancey songs?

This song would fit too. Since the area is pretty corny and party-themed.

I can see the problems for the light in WW , its just that once you do see it(Which I could see it anywhere right of the animatronic in full, and anywhere else i could still see it above the buildings) It always drew my eyes to it. Its like once you learn that peter pan flew on wires, you start looking for the wires.

I had an idea the other day while reading Youhow's post. I love the concept of the park extending the doctor/experiment gone wrong theme. My only problem with that is the fact that Dr. Felix Freakenstein is not sinister enough in my opinion. This doesn't mean that Freakenstein or the nurses have to go either.

Introducing Dr. Edgar Von Angst- the main character from Deconstruction a, former maze in Tampa. Much like Freakenstein, Dr. Angst was also an outcast in the medical field. The main difference is that Dr. Angst took their criticism too personally. He went mad, in fact. After losing his license, he continued his practices in secret. Eventually, he began disassembling humans and put them back together for fun. It was horrifying. Before his demise, he fell one notch deeper into insanity by combining flesh and steel.

This would work well in 13's place. They are always trying to find reasons to have attractions in that building. The idea of an underground evil doctor would work well in a place that's literally meant to be underground. That's one reason 13 disappointed me. I liked the idea of refreshing the Dark Tower idea, but having you start the maze by going down a ramp blows that idea. This maze would actually have potential to make sense. The entrance to 13 already looks like a back alley. All they need is a dumpster with mutilated body parts. This could be a cheap way to re-use props in a creative and new way.

I've long felt the theme from 2011's scare zone Stitchin' Time could work out well as a potential theme for a Killarney haunt. If expanded upon correctly, it could be a great tie between the Freakenstein theme and the more sinister "evil science" theme.

Although, if a new terror-tory were to be added in 2015, I'd put my money on Heatherdowns.

That was such a great scarezone, just a bunch of angry looking guys in kilts. And it worked so well.

The one when a bunch of angry guys beat drums at you in kilts with absolutely no props or anything surrounding the area?

But it was done so well, a bunch of tall guys wandering around making startling noises on a dark path. All it really needs is a few props and it would be perfect.

That's the one.

I didn't feel like it needed that many props. Maybe one or two things, sure, but didn't need to be something elaborate. Considering the scare was based off the fact that these are angry Scotsmen, in Heatherdowns. (And Angry Scotsmen are pretty terrifying. Angry men in general are terrifying.) Adding to the fact that it's on a pretty decent sized incline, too many pop-out scares might not be a good thing. It was simple, and I rather liked that.

It wasn't for everyone. But, I liked it. It fit the theme of the hamlet with very little effort, and probably didn't cost them a lot. It worked for me.

I'm sorry, I thought the scarezone was comical. I mean, think about it.

"Angry men beating drums at you: The Experience"

I feel like some atmospheric lighting and some fog would be nice for that path as a build-up to the haunted areas. I'd honestly rather leave it somewhat empty than to waste time with actors beating drums at people.

I did think about it, while its comical in when phrased like that, when put together with my experience with angry men it's rather... Well, scary.

Again, it doesn't work for everyone. I don't expect it to. Its something that in this case relates to personal experience.

It wasn't the best scare zone, but it certainly wasn't the worst either. With a bit more it could have been a nice one to improve upon. And would probably require not a ton of effort. However, when it compares to the concept of terror Tories it would have to be on the scale of ripper row to work. And even then it could be argued that its not a terrortory based on the fact that terrortories are supposed to take you out of the park and put you somewhere else.

In the end, nothing is likely to happen with that section of heatherdowns anyways. That area, the exception of the Moore's and scavengers (which was on the opposite side), is always sort of a buffer zone to begin with.

Some people find other people, like the ones in the moors, to be far more scary than any other creature of the night. In fact, in the past, and sometimes today, people get startled by the security more than the actors. Just the fact that they lurk in the shadows, and don't look happy creeps people out.

Then there's always the inexperienced employee who stands watch and forgets they are in a scary zone. "Enjoy the rest of Howl-O-Scream!" will always sound better to me than the KD/Universal approach: "Everybody keep the line moving! Don't stop!"

If a standby employee says "Enjoy the rest of Howl-O-Scream!", I can excuse that and pretend they are delusional. What I can't ignore however, is rudeness. This shows more than anything that the employees aren't enjoying themselves. Does anybody think BGW can improve any of their methods? Which of the mazes pulled this off well if any?

I say for heatherdowns lighting and LIGHT fog. It doesnt have to be blinding, but enough to give the illusional of a foggy night on the moors, lots of ambience(Wolves howling, snarls and animal noises, ghastly whispers) would make an otherwise bland area pop out. you can even keep the hanging pumpkins, which would look awesome with some fog around them, so you see the faces peering out at you. Maybe throw in a few actor scarecrows, maybe a ghillie here and there, it would be an overall cool area.

Same thing with WR, it just feels so...empty. Like 2 or 3 ghillies would be great!

The problem with these two areas is the hilly landscape, making it a bit of a hazard.Heatherdowns has a way around that, by using the long path instead of the steep drop by loch ness, they can avoid that problem, plus it takes running guests away from the railroad tracks. this way guests can either bypass it to get to fiends and using the bridge by loch ness they can bypass other areas to get to Night Beats.

Also, unrelated to what was said above. Heard a rumor that the guy who plays Ulrich in Night Beats is not returning for night beats, which means either new Ulrich, new character, or new show.

I think the Wild Reserve needs to be more utilized. It's one of the darkest areas in the park, is always heavily decorated, and hasn't been staffed for the past couple of years! The sound from Demon Street doesn't actually carry into it very far, so the stifling silence is a very practical tool to use. Use some fog, strobes, and speakers to make a thunderstorm effect, and ghillie/werewolves for the occasional jump scare. Simple stuff that wouldn't cost them much at all since they already have the props.

^ Fog, flashing lights and jump scares at one of the steepest incline/declines in the park... I dont know how safe that would be. I agree it should be utilized, it would be a nightmare if a guest was injured due to a scare, they could sue the park, the actor responsible, etc... that wouldnt be fun.

There are more relatively flat areas in the reserve, mainly by the Aviary. That is where they have always done all of their scares in the past. Last year they had nothing but a giant cloud of fog so thick you couldn't see right at the very top of the steep hill which shows either they know what their doing or they are willing to take risks.
