So shout out to Gavin for taking me to the park tonight. Went only for HoS did only the houses. (along with some coasters.)

In at #7 is Unearthed. Huge surprise right? No stacking, walked through with zero problems. There was just nobody scaring anyone. Like Even listening for other people's screams, I think I maybe heard 4? And considering how long the maze is... Ouch.

#6 is Bitten. I don't know what was going through the attendant's heads tonight but the house was stacking before we even got inside. We walked up to the QQ/RAP entrance, they let us in. Walked up the ramp, and boom the last group was right there. Turned around to say something to Gavin, and they were letting another group go. We weren't even inside the house yet. It was massively backed up. I felt bad for the actors, because they had like no time to reset for their next scare. It was just a constant stream line of people.

#5 is Deadline. Some stacking issues. But they just didn't do anything really. Honestly I had a better experience going through Deadline last night while super upset than I did tonight. It was just meh.

#4 is Catacombs. It was the first house of the night we did. And I have to say there were some parts where it was so dark I literally clung to a wall to try and make it through. It was alright though. Nothing fantastic. Also had stacking issues.

#3 has to be Cut Throat Cove. I was pleasantly surprised by CTC tonight. I walked through and Gavin and I both got some scares within the first two rooms. It was really nice. Almost caught up with the group in front of us, but with some slow pacing, we managed not to catch up. There was a lull in the middle of the house for me at least. I think Gavin screamed a couple of times. But, considering I usually straight face walk through it, it was nice.

#2 is Cornered. Oh my god this house. It was great. The death of the house will be those damn sheets/claustrophobia things. We had to go through the house twice, because the first time was just a bad experience. I had a couple in front of us, where the guy kept stopping and turning around and waiting for me to get scared by something. I don't know it was very strange and uncomfortable. Once we managed to space ourselves from them it was an alright house.

The second time we went through it, oh my god, so much better. 3 of the scarecrows got me, all in a row pretty much. The house stacked at the claustrophobia part again. And while we were literally standing there not moving, one of the actors managed to scare me. He had been sort of pacing in his little section doing nothing more than some moaning and wall hugging. And then he hit some metal and shouted and got me and Gavin pretty well. Got through the awful sheets, and caught up to some guy who kept taking pictures. Which was annoying, but I think he got the point when I sort of angrily told him to keep moving. Gave Gavin and I some space between us and completed the house and omg we got so many good scares. It was a strong house. Also Gavin ran out of the house screaming, and ran half way back to the Festhaus.

#1 hands down is Lumberhack. We also did this one twice. But we did it twice because it was sooooo good the first time around. Like I would gladly wait in a long line for this house, it was that good. omg so, the first time we went through We again paced our selves through it. Gavin got some pretty hilarious scares. The buzz saw that's above/at your head got me. He popped out and led me right into some other guy who scared me even more. And then at the end of the house, we were walking back up the ramp and one chainsaw guy popped out, and got Gavin and I. I jumped back a little to the other railing and the other guy got close and said something and scared me even more, and then the final chainsaw. It got Gavin so good, he just ran.

The second time we went through was even better than the first. I was worried that since it was closer to the end of the night, that the cast would be suffering from exhaustion, but nope. Oh man. Half way through the maze, we get to the really wide open spot where there's guys doing the spark things. And just ugh, they were amazing. I got distracted by the guy on the left, and it turns out there was one on the right behind the wall. He got us, then the guy I originally saw got us. To which by then, Gavin had grabbed my shoulder and bag and was trying to haul ass out of that section. But then, a third guy appeared and scared us to the point where Gavin completely let go and just ran all the way to the next scene. (He actually ended up scaring a woman ahead of us, because all she saw was somebody running and screaming. and she thought it was one of the actors.) and again that hanging saw got us good. Honestly the only reason we ended up catching up to the group ahead of us, is because we ran through part of the house because of scares. And it's really nice that there's a house that can not only allow you to do that, but actually scare you enough where it's possible to actually run.

I cannot say enough good things about Lumberhack. And I am so glad I got to go again tonight, because I'd be really upset if I had last night as my only opinion on the house. Lumberhack is simply amazing and is absolutely the best house in my opinion. And I hope everyone in that house can maintain their enthusiasm to continue it. Just ugh, so good man.

I am disappointed that none of the indoor houses were doing well. but I'm really glad that the outdoor ones were preforming as well as they were.

I was able to do around half of the mazes tonight. I was able to do every maze Friday night and wanted to see how some of them compared. I wasn't able to judge the mazes fully Friday, they were all working out kinks, and the actors were still getting a feel for their environment. However, I think tonight I was able to judge the mazes for what they really were.

Lumberhack: Cutting it close to Bitten tonight, but ended up on the top. Vastly improved over Friday. Just waiting in line and looking at the very daring house in the distance, and hearing the bloodcurdling screams and sounds was really, really spooky, just to begin with. But holy cow, this maze is a force to be reckoned with. The actors were amazing, and the staffing really packed the house with actors. Just to give you a feeling of how dedicated the actors were. One of the first actors at the beginning of the house, who is supposed to act all panicked, never once broke character, not even between groups(you could see here while waiting in line). The masks on the actors are just fantastic, they make just catching a glimpse of them quite scary. So many scare tactics, like the slidable saw blade, and the power tools that produce sparks, all add to the uniqueness of the house. The nearly pitch blackness makes the entire maze very disorienting. When the end of the house nears and you get to the boardwalk, it's nearly engulfed in fog with a strobe going off in the background, and actors are almost impossible to see, so anyway they scare you it's almost always surprising.

I don't think I can find a flaw in this maze, maybe its somewhat short length, but that's about it.

Bitten: This house was already performing fantastically on Friday, and I saw the same thing tonight. It was really nice to see a lot of the old scares that the house was built for being utilized again. The blacklight room, the surprise opening of the closet with the loud scream, and the coffin opening were all being utilized. The performers were all fantastic, many were working in pairs. Made an older house seem very refreshing.

Cornered: This house was performing a little better than it was on Friday, which isn't a bad thing at all considering it was performing very well then too. Many of the actors had improved their character tremendously. The stacking issues I experienced on Friday night were eliminated, which was strange considering they were letting more people in at a higher rate tonight. After experience, the mirror maze is far more effective in the dark than it is in the daytime, but it was still pretty good. The actors in the corn maze part were very good. A couple of them were helping push people to go a longer route, and another one of the actors scared me twice. I think more cornstalks and hiding places for the actors in this area could really improve it.

The soundtrack and noises in this maze really make sure each part has a different feel to it. Also, like Lumberhack, the masks on the scare actors are amazingly detailed and extremely effective. I'm going to have nightmares about the guy in the first building, because of his mask. With a few easy tweaks, Cornered could go from a good maze to an excellent one.

Deadline: Last, but certainly not least was Deadline. Probably performing on par with Friday night, it is still performing the best I've seen in years. The actors are really good at hiding themselves effectively, so you can't see if they're there until you get to them. Otherwise, the sets for Deadline remain unchanged, and atmosphere still effective as ever. But with great actors, it is amazing this year.

Also in case anybody on here is as confused as I was about all the talk about Lumberhack's entrance.

The arrow rotates.

I know I was confused about where the entrance was for it, seeing pictures of being near the train tracks and stuff. And hearing that you can only go from Bitten to Lumberhack if you have QQ or RAP.

this. on slow nights you go to bittens exit, busy nights go to cornereds exit.

Keep in mind it is the first night. The actors need time to adjust to their settings.

This!! we need to give it some time. If its like that on the last night then we complain but for now lets give it a chance

Last night the queue was filling up almost to the end. I imagine that they'll only be using the short queue on bad weather days from now on.

Went to the park yesterday and overall enjoyed the event. I agree that some major work needs to occur at Unearthed, I still don't understand what the house was supposed to be about. I like the idea of using the large screens from Europe in the Air but the execution was just not there. Also the 'card section' at the end was just stupid and confusing.

My only major complaint about the event as a whole is that too many of the houses depended off of 'gory people eating scares'. It felt like most of the houses had at least one room filled with bloody limbs,'half eaten/cut up body parts' and somebody screaming "help me". While the story was different for each, the underlining 'phobia' was the same (don't get captured and eaten/cut up by monster).

I was actually pleasantly surprised by how the event turned out. I figured it would take some time to fix the event after you know who left, but I'll be damned if they didn't do a lot of cool things.

Fiends: Still sucked, lots of unfunny jokes still. Talent is good.

Blood Banquet: They took last years's superb Fright Feast show and moved it here replacing Nurses with Vampire girls. Talent is great and he show is extremely funny and self-aware still (including an apt swipe at BGWFans). They even brought back (part of) the bartender girl outfit that I loved. Will be doing again.

Unearthed: I really dug this house a lot. It needs more actors, but thematically it's amazing. They even have story actors!

Cornered: An amazingly designed house. I would never have thought that BGW could pull off something this brilliant. Nice and long with a nice narrative built into it. Good job.

Demon Street: They made it worse. They somehow figured out a way to make it worse

Lumberhacked: While I can appreciate the long walk on a thematic level, it was annoying. The payoff for a house in dense woods was really cool though (though if you said it wasn't worth it, I would understand). Neat prop work and more story actors.

I didn't get a chance to do everything because I was so exhausted and couldn't walk anymore, but I'll be going up there more than last year.

Good job, BGW.

Cornered was amazing, but I'm not sure I get the love for lumberhack. Maybe I was just over the rain at that point.

So, I went back on sunday and saw a few things here is my impressions

1.) MSoRR felt rushed...and forced...

2.) Fiends changed a devent amount of the way they say the jokes. sometimes it paid off, sometimes it didnt... definitely love the...costume design(or lack thereof) for the creature though!

3.) Unearthed was better this time around. They finally have Jack and Trickster in, but Jack was staying far and smacking the wall...effectively not scaring anyone... trickster just laughed... rather disappointing, but the other scares were more plentiful.

4. Deadline reminded me of its former glory! Actors we're on point and very effective! Would be a great way to end Deadline's run on a strong note.

5. Ripper Row started full of people and saw other people get scared well, then all of sudden nobody was there... weird.

6.Demon Street was meh at best...

7. Wendigo Woods did great at making their scientists blend in wit the chaos, and did decently.

8. vampire Point was doing alright. A huge group was in the middle and a vamp snuck right behind the person taking a photo and scared the daylights out of them.

9. Ports of Skulls was decent, in the sense they arent smurfs and are almost in pitch darkness there by the bridge. Way ahead of last year.

Unfortunately thats all I did sunday but thus far big improvements!

Wait there's supposed to be somebody manning the dig site tent?

We saw two actors there when we went through Friday. They were the only ones doing anything at all. The house, itself, was a ghost town, and not in a good way.

Both times I've gone through the house nobody was there. I figured it was just like the rest of the house all decoration and no actors.

Ok, I just want to clear up some things, I know a lot of you have complaints about the claustrophobia Room in Cornered. There is a path on the right side of it that you have the option to take. There were a couple of actual claustrophobes (I guess that's a word) that walked through it and had a real panic attack and had to exit the maze, so it's scaring some people... Just not in the right way.
Also, someone a few pages ago said they don't like how weak Cornered starts and then complimented the ending. The actors are lighter and not as scary in the beginning on purpose. The story is... Well look it up on the website, I'm too tired to post it. Anyways after reading it, you know you're starting off going into the fields and by the end you're in the heart of MEE MAWS Cornhusk factory. It's supposed to be scarier at the end. So the closer to the end, the scarier.
