Any idea which house is gonna get the boot this year? I would think cornered or lumber hack. Ideas?

I don't see Lumberhack being redone because it's such a simple house for them.

Cornered, despite it being terrible, was pulling longer lines than DD, Dystopia, Lumberhack, and sometimes Vault. Only being beaten by the non moving line of Circo.

I personally think they will keep the lineup and just get rid of Vault. I don't see them making any major HoS moves, despite maybe relocating a house or possibly using the BfE building (let's hope they do)

Even if frostbite was disliked, it still had a long line for some reason.

The park doesn't care so much if you enjoy the house versus if it pulls in a big line. You'd think the two go hand in hand, but they don't. Long lines drive quick queue sales, that's all they care about.

id like to know why you think thats what the park actually does, im sure they do care about qucik queue sales, but to say the park definitely goes solely by that is ridiculous and if you dont have any source then your putting out opinions as facts, which is just awful

the park already said Vault was going to be arond for one year and thats it - it was advertised in the house's description being it was only supposed to exist for the anniversary

my opinion is no new houses, they added two last year (not includin vault which wont stick around), the focus might likely switch to shows since all their shows are tired and dated

Do you think they respond to crowd enthusiasm at all, or has everything been planned out longer than that?

No one I know liked Frostbite last year, I wonder if there will be any park response to that.

the park is always responding, yea things for HOS dont start happening till June/July, so planning is likely in the spring time, i would think, the park is receptive to feedback, whether they show that or not is another story

Clearly you didn't read every word if you are going to hold that stance in such an aggressive manor.

Every word except for the last sentence was just saying the park cares about long lines, and uses that as a good gauge to tell if something is "successful", whatever they are viewing that term to mean at the time. I then gave one reason why they use that as a gauge. There are many other reasons too that I am not certain on, hence why I didn't mention them.

Me saying "that's all they care about" was more so a rhetorical strategy to emphasize the "sadness" (?) in that revenue is valued more than overall enjoyment in this industry, and thus was not meant to be taken literally that BGW only cares 100% about quick queue sales, and to me at least clearly doesn't mean that. It could've been better worded to fit with the rest of my sentence, but in no way did my post require such an aggressive retort from you. I'd appreciate if you at least attempted in the future to have a conversation on this forum instead of just immediately coming out with your horns freshly sharpened.

I'm more than happy to discuss with people. Frankly I enjoy it, hence why I am on a forum. I dislike when people like to address things in a hostile manor.

If I am misunderstanding the tone of your post and you did not mean it to be agressive in any way, I apologize

One of the creatives stated that Howl-O-Scream planning for the next season starts as soon as the current HOS starts. They finalize most of the event (at least as far as the lineup and concept artwork) by January. They finish everything built offsite by August for them to complete it by September.

Edit: I would think that the shows could take a bit longer, since they created Celtic Fyre in six months, whereas Secrets of Castle O'Sullivan took a full four years or so. It's anyone's guess as to when the scripts make it to the final product. Scrooge No More went through several changes before finalization. It went from a Dickensian Christmas show to a rock extravaganza, and back to much the way it started. I think they finished the costume design eight months in advance, so January or February could be when they finalize the shows too.

Wow, haven’t heard that. Well, I guess I kinda expected it to last only one year. Hopefully they can fix up a house in that area. Possibly one from Tampa or hopefully something relating to a mental asylum or a slaughterhouse. Those both really creep me out.

^I'd prefer it if they stayed away from both of those type of houses. An asylum because those with poor mental health are demonized enough as it is without it being Halloween. And Slaughterhouses are... so boring. Every room looks near identical. the smell of things rotting is disgusting, and I want to be scared not walk through a house and go "ew" and have that be my only feeling.

Still waiting on that doll themed house, tho BG. You had a whole mascot for it. Y'all did nothing with him. (Though to be clear Doll Houses don't scare me either. Dolls are just neat.)

Oh yea! We need a house for Mr Karver! I never did the Case of Mr Karver escape room and we totally need a house, though I do feel like the doll portion in check sinestri should be represented a bit

I was thinking about the Darkastle ride, what it they somehow kept the ride system in place and used it as a HOS house/ride attraction. That coule be a one of a kind haunt experience somewhat like a old school fun house. I know the stuff is gone and all the reasons it wouldnt happen...just throwing ti out there as something I think would have been really cool.

I've always thought this with the Ireland sim building, because it's relatively simple to reprogram the movement, and probably could get a video for relatively cheap.

Its is? We know this how?

We could? By what definition? From whom?
The movement is reprogrammed by a joystick, and the program remembers the movement, almost like recording it. The person who programs it watches the video and moves the platform how they see fit.

Notice how I said probably, as many smaller studios (ex the guys who made CSH) could PROBABLY be tasked to make something short and sweet for relatively cheap.

Alright, I got an idea. Rip out lumber hack or keep it there, doesn’t matter, more house more attendance blah blah blah. Do an outdoor Viking themed haunted house in New France possibly through the entrance of InvadR but not taking up InvadR so you can still ride it. Have the line go around where the Christmas town express was and detour away from InvadR. Use some Viking actors from the Terrortory and possibly some things from lumber hack (if they rip it out). Any other ideas? I do feel like New France is missing something’s with Howl O Scream. And it seems like the only place with area, because somewhere like Italy would have a beautiful house if it were themed like the garden of the souls, but doesn’t have the space for it.

Vikings aren't scary. It is like the pirates house; no matter how well you put together a house, the fact that it is themed around something not scary to begin with makes it unable to have any success.

They need to ditch the viking thing. It is dumb. Never once was I scared by some Fortnite looking actor with a wooden shield screaming at me.

Although I do agree with you, I don’t think their gonna tear out a scare zone implemented, what, last year or two years ago? Wendigo woods would’ve made for a really fun house though.
