Quick thoughts from tonight.

We arrived a little after 7, to a strange mix of HoS music in some areas, regular park music in others, and no fog at all. There were chainsaw wielding actors and the wind-up doll from Sideshow Square in Axe Alley, but no Vikings. As the evening continued though, things seemed to smooth out and get on track. I thought for a preview night, it was a pretty good time. As always, I hope (and expect) some more decorations will get put up, but overall, it was definitely not bad. We managed to hit all the houses, and were, for the most part, pleasantly surprised. Staffing levels in the houses and scare zones were pretty good, and got a hand full of nice startles for the night.

The standout for me was Killarney. It certainly looks like they put a bunch of effort in decorating the area, and I thought it looked terrific. I did notice the hanging pumpkins weren't on tonight, which would have definitely added to the atmosphere. Presumably they will be on in the future.

I think Jack is back is the headliner this year but as I understand it was just that the park needed more time to transition the stage and set up from what it was during summer nights

ok how is it this year compared to last since last year was not good at all?

Scare actors prepping. As seen from the train:

*Edit* this post formerly contained photos, but some people had concerns with the photo being posted here. Despite being taken from a public place, out of respect, I took down the photos.
