Based on the pictures @Hamptonian posted, it looks like Vampire Point has gotten some minor changes? The garlic wreathes on the windows seem to be a throwback to the old days of vampires in Aquitaine, and thankfully Mr. Handsome Mini Golf Vampire looks to have been replaced with a pile of coffins on top of the fountain by the Ski Mart.

As a minor critique, the tombstones in the Aquitaine flower bed don't make a lot of sense in Fools' Court and would make more sense with the others in the Jack Hanna Trail. That said, seeing the Grim Reaper in his rightful form (no more Mr. Happy Demon) and the return of the "Jack is Back: You Better Beware" signs really excite me and themselves lend a richer character that has been missing from the event in recent years.

Something about seeing BGW's decorations show up each year always gets me giddy. Even though the scale of decorating has lagged quite a bit in recent years, BGW is one of the few parks that covers pretty much every area of the park with decorations, and year after year, seeing the decorations fills me with nostalgia and gives me comfort that those gritty, cool autumn evenings at the park are drawing near.

Busch Gardens just said this in a comment on their latest Facebook post: “Details to come in the next day or so regarding the hurricane updates. Stay tuned.”

Doesn’t sound good for opening weekend. Forecasts at this point look pretty bad.

I'm here in NC and from Wilmington and as much as this sucks, I'd rather the park error on the side of caution on this. We're bracing for the worst and I'm currently working to get relatives and some of their belongs here to Winston Salem. Hopefully the Williamsburg area can avoid some damage and not set back HOS.

On a side note I encourage anyone to volunteer or donate to relief efforts. I fear it will be needed more than in the past.

Odds this hurricane hits the park in such a way it damages the Howl-O-Scream setups in any way (outdoor houses, scare zones, etc)?

Also, I've been curious if we think they will have the train running before capacity season hits. If capacity HoS Saturdays arrive without trainy boy, could be quite a pain.

I have to say right now I am very concerned for Vault XX. Based on the video it seems like many scenes are supposed to “represent” houses not physically recreating scenes. It appears to be they just threw some of the more recent house props in the DF station and are hoping nostalgia is a good enough of a band-aid to give good reviews. I sincerely hope this house is good, but at the moment my expectations are very low.

its a one year only house, its only purpose is nostalgia

To end on a good note, just looking at these very few shots of Demented Dimensions I am beyond pumped. Those sets look extremely creative compared to what we’ve seen in previous years. This is easily my most anticipated house solely from that short clip showcasing the uniqueness of the sets.

it came shipped up from tampa who is known to put more effort into their houses than williamsburg, should be no surprise

I'm thinking that this weekend not be a bust for HoS especially on Sunday. Probably will be overcast with chances of rain but I think the park will be open as long as the track of Florence continues its southern track through SC and even GA.

I hear what some have been saying about Demented Dimension's set having been sent from Tampa, but I'm not convinced. For one thing, the mannequins look different. In the acupuncturist scene, Tampa's dummy has bright red paint, whereas Williamsburg's has more realistic blood.

I also have trouble believing that Tampa would send all of the house to BGW after one season when the house is returning there. The only reason I could see that happening is that the park has mentioned the possibilities of changing some scenes each year, but they didn't say "the whole house."

I would love to think that the parks would share HOS-related items, but I don't see that being plausible for this house. To my knowledge, they have never done that before: at least not on any significant scale. That said, I am also surprised that we seem to be getting an identical maze, given that Tampa's house was created to save money by reusing props that Tampa already had. The whole thing is a bit of a puzzler.
