i think that entrance decor is a lot spookier than seeing mr. karver's doll just sitting there in a chair.

A (not so) small collection of new HoS decor. I took a lot more but didn't really feel like adding them all. Biggest things I got was they're nowhere near done for the new terrortories but they added a lot more to the non-scare areas. My personal favorite was a grave dedicated to wes craven father of Freddy. Otherwise I expect to see.more put up this week but with the storm who knows what will happen.

No troll but they have the actually prop ghosts just not the projection. I suspect it just hasn't been put in yet though

Yes. He is part of HOS history though. I would hope he would be brought back for HOS 20.

I don't think I would miss it per say, just like there are many things from HOS past I don't miss, but the 20th anniversary would be cool if they just brought everything in that is recognizable and nostalgic

Yeah the troll is just nostalgic. I wonder if it will be in the vault maze this year and they took it out last year to renovate it? After all isn't one of the old mazes they're having as part of the maze including dead time stories or whatever it was called?

Also, it seems like they’re really outdoing themselves this year when it comes to decorating. Gravestones back in lorikeet, jack is back fliers, and overall a more detailed persona. I absolutely love it and the hurricane couldn’t have came at a worse time.

I tend to agree with this as the event obviously has major features that people expect to return such as Icons or specific houses or scare zones from the past. While small props like the troll may not be as recognizable since it has been used since the Jack's Nightmare Express days in the Caribou Station and later moved on to elsewhere in the park like @BGW Family mentioned, it's still mildly recognizable.

The park is pretty good at preparing for the damage and setting everything back up. Some great HOS years have faced Hurricanes like 2011 with Hurricane Arlene and in 2003 with Hurricane Isabel. Parks on the East Coast and in the paths of potential Hurricanes realize that it could potentially impact there event and they take note and prepare. For example, Halloween Horror Nights every year has to take down props literally hours before the catastrophic event and then places them back soon after.

I have to say right now I am very concerned for Vault XX. Based on the video it seems like many scenes are supposed to “represent” houses not physically recreating scenes. It appears to be they just threw some of the more recent house props in the DF station and are hoping nostalgia is a good enough of a band-aid to give good reviews. I sincerely hope this house is good, but at the moment my expectations are very low.

To end on a good note, just looking at these very few shots of Demented Dimensions I am beyond pumped. Those sets look extremely creative compared to what we’ve seen in previous years. This is easily my most anticipated house solely from that short clip showcasing the uniqueness of the sets.
