I normally don't bother, but since everyone keeps bringing up the clowns, let me just voice an alternate opinion. I find clowns completely un-scary. Mostly they annoy me.

Carnivals can be creepy, but clowns are just noisy and tedious. I remember being bored to death by them at the circus as a child, and at previous HOS events I recall just hoping to get through their maze without a headache.

Honestly, I was thrilled, when they went away, and I really hope the groupthink going on around here is off the mark.

I agree with you, but I still think Fear Fair > Cut Throat Cove. However, during Fear Fair's first season, they had more than just clowns.

I find carnies creepy. But that is just because I expect they are all just escaped from federal prison...

Honestly, clowns don't scare me, but carnivals can easily be scary. But I'd take clowns over pirates any day.

Clowns are easily my favorite theme for haunt events. I'm don't have a phobia of clowns or anything, but there's something eerily "realistic" about the creepy clowns that wander the park midways. Maybe because clowns are real, so it's not that much of a stretch to imagine the twisted jester in front of you being a real psychopath.

I guess, when you boil it down, scare actors being clowns are really just people in makeup pretending to be people in makeup. So compared to vampires and demons which are rooted in obvious fiction, to me, the clowns pose a more "real" threat.

I say, send in the clowns!

A "twisted" carnival would be a great idea and would work as a scare. If you don't think clowns are scary they could go with a Rob Zombie House of 1000 Corpses or his other movie 31 to get ideas. As for clowns I'd like to see them back because my wife absolutely terrified of clowns so I get a lot of enjoyment from it. :evilgrin:

I don't have any fear of clowns, yet a turn of the century carnival atmosphere is one of my favorite themes for Halloween. We know it works in Festa with little effort required. Now I'm exited to see how the park pulls it off in the rest of Italy if they choose to do so.

I always read way too much into these things, but the background on the HOS page reminds me of a swanky old school theater, and the lights around the logo look like a mirror in a dressing room perhaps? All pointing to a stage show encore maybe? Either way, it should be really interesting to see where the new peeps in Entertainment take HOS this year. AND I'm stoked that I can go back into the houses this year

Speaking of severed heads! Will we be seeing them again? Since some people got offended because of the news of Isis, they just kept them in the mazes and left the severed arms as decor.

Evil Encore is the overarching theme for all the HOS events this year. The clowns will most likely be announced as it gets closer to the event.

That's exactly what I was referring to And thank you! We took him for the first time on Saturday and he thoroughly enjoyed!

It was weird to ride past the site of 'Cut Throat Cove' on the train and see barely anything there....

Also, the line "the curtains go up on Sept 23rd" reallllly makes me think this has nothing to do with a carnival, and more to do with a "stage".
