hey all, I went to the park earlier this week and just now had the time to get on here. is it too early for them to be prepping for the house in the Festhaus employee parking lot? I rode the train and when I went by it looked like there were things set up in the middle of the lot and a wooden shack that looked like it was from the house. thanks!

That is a bit early, but I believe they might doing some early maintenance just to see how the house is after having been in storage rather then them actually prepping the house for HOS.

My guess is that they are just rotating things in and out of storage after the Food And Wine Festival. That way, HOS decor will be in the foreground when they need it.

A lot of storage back there was displaced by the InvadR construction. I'm sure those items are just being stored there.

Is it just me or have they pushed the event back a few weekends? Seems like the event is shorter.

Also, 2 months and 19 days until HoS!

I think- and this is just based on my memory- this is about on par with last year, but last year they did push it back a bit from what it was the year before. I remember because my birthday is September 10 and one year I went to HOS on my birthday weekend. I guess they found people just aren't in a Halloween mood that early... early September is basically still high summer here in VA, after all.

It mostly has to do with when the weekends fall. Like I said, 6 weeks is standard.

I guess it's possible, but all three parks had challenges with portraying an elaborate story, such as Unearthed, in a maze environment. I suspect that they will go back to themes with stories that you don't need to know to understand an entire attraction.

As for both Williamsburg and Tampa's sake I hope that you are correct.
Fans of Howl-O-Scream at Williamsburg and Tampa did not exactly get the whole deal with the "Icon Cards".
It was a bit of a confusing part overall. I hope that they do not do shared houses again, because all three park's execution of the house was confusing as a whole. Williamsburg did some things better than Tampa, and Tampa did other things better than Williamsburg. It all seemed like a mess with the storylines.

Could we possibly see some scare actors in costume jumping into the rides, ridding beside visitors this year?
