I Don't doubt that for one second and I'm glad that our sources are willing to risk their jobs to provide us with this information. But I've always followed the belief that a rumor is just a rumor until it's been confirmed that's just my view on life.

None of which contradicts my point that we will have information more than a month before the event. Whether or not you choose to believe our sources in entirely up to you.

The biggest problem with rumors related to Howl-O-Scream, is the amount of stuff that changes just weeks before the event starts. Lumberhack was legitimately intended to be a type of boardwalk maze. That idea lasted until they built part of it, only to realize what a horrible idea it was in execution versus on paper.

Fear Fair was supposed to return for a third year, but was scrapped for a back-burner idea (Cut Throat Cove) about a month before the event. They salvaged what they could from Fear Fair, and used the full services of Oak Island Creative for consulting.

There could be a book about what might have been, but we will probably never see any of it. The park doesn't like talking about "what if" scenarios.

Hessian, the problem lies with this post:

Any new news on HOS?

And Busch doesn't start posting stuff on their websites until a month before the start of the event though they have been posting earlier in recent years.

Rob asked if there was any new HOS news.

The Dictionary said:
news

newly received or noteworthy information, especially about recent or important events

This means that, whether or not the information is official, it can still be news. Even if the facts change, the information itself is still news. Rob didn't ask for officially confirmed event information, he asked for news.

When we hear well-founded whispers (what is referenced as rumors in Nicole's post below), that is news.

We usually start to hear rumors much earlier than that.

Imagine an alternative universe where all those what if's actually were...

*imagines*

...

Maybe I just dreamed this but wasn't there a maze that was witch themed? I can't think of any but I could have sworn I was in line for a maze once and there was a witch pointing a wand at a cauldron a few yards away from the crowd and making it burn. That was Busch, right? I'm not going crazy?

Cursed. It was where Cut Throat Cove is currently.

Cursed was so bad. Nice old BGW employees are neither energetic, nor scary. I would love to see them re-use the Roman Rapids Queue area. Some of HoS's best houses have been there(IMO). It's small, but it's covered, so it can be dark. That's a big boon. Also it's size can help. Houses in EitA are always very sparse due to the size.

I remember going through a house in the lower section of the Pompeii building. It was so dark that I thought some of the atmospheric lighting wasn't working. I seem to recall there being a ledge with a railing but, again, it was so dark people were just feeling for the person in front of them and following sounds.

While the houses themselves are usually interesting I just think it's cool to be able to go into places to which guests usually don't have access. It may just be a few storage rooms or a hallway or something but it's still neat to me. Last year I was asked to take a park survey and I got to go into one of the little houses in England. I had no idea there was a little office in there! Granted, I was hoping for some scullery maid or child-luring witch to be living there but the office was nice too.

They need to do away with CTC this year as well as wendigo woods. CTC is just aweful. I think they did a really great job on Cornered and lumberhack. I think they should do more houses like that

If they do get rid of cut throat cove I would be happy with a scare zone taking its place, they could take out the pirates completely and re theme that entire section of the park to zombies considering deadline is where Pompeii is.
