I can also say that I heard the song play at least 4 times in different parts of the park but didn't see anything happen when it played. Then I got thinking that maybe it only happens in WW since I was never in that area when it played. Did anyone happen to be in WW when it played?
As for the staffing I thought all of the houses were staffed pretty well....better than when I went last year anyway.
I thought that the actors in Rippers Row were doing their usual great jobs and saw some actors that had come back from last year.

I was also at the park tonight and really enjoyed everything I got a chance to do! I did 13, Catacombs, Deadline, and Cut Throat Cove- same old, same old but still fun for me! And better staffed than I remember seeing them last September.

I LOVED Monster Stomp- just silly, energetic fun. I think the Globe is a great venue for it.

The only thing that seemed like a step down from last year to me was Ripper Row- it just seemed to have less character. Oh and I also don't really get the pirate makeup.

Looking forward to getting around to the other shows and houses... overall it's not a perfect event, but I definitely wouldn't hesitate to recommend it! Unless you really hate repetition, since it IS really similar to last year.

Immersion is the word for WW and I quite like what they did. I felt the decor could use some more to make it look less like New France, but what the actors were doing was very cool. Just a very brief description of what I saw, there were Drill Sargent type characters barking at people to evacuate the infected area, but there are also infected scientists that are begging for help, crawling on the ground acting very injured, and so on. It's pretty neat.

Random cool WW bit: There is audio and spotlight set up so occasionally it would seem like there's a helicopter flying by. Really neat.

Was the lady with the fan in Ripper's Row?

Overall, everyone in my company felt this was a great strong opening night as far as openings go.

Scott Gasparich seemed to have been in the best moods today, it's really a nice change.

Nope I didn't see her. I actually didn't see any scare actors in Ripper's Row...I'm hoping I caught it when they were on break...but it was around 9:45.

I walked through there at 9:40 and there were about 5 or so actors there, one was the lady with the fan. Even got a pic of her!
Rats! Lucky!! I must have just missed them.

I wasn't able to stray from my hangout spot much last night but here's my gist of things.

- Atmosphere looks solid in all areas. I was hoping there'd be more hiding spots for the vampires. I think they got short changed this year. The shacks and stuff from last year area all gone so its just the stage.
- Clock tower looks bleh. I remember in years past there would be other "vampires" hanging out up there but this year I just saw the gargoyle and speakers. If you're gonna mess up the clock tower, at least make it look good during the seasonal stuff.
- Wendigo Woods looks pretty good. Wish they'd utilize some of the props for bungee scares or something though. There seemed to be enough hiding spots for actors but most of them were roaming the pathways.

I only got to stray from my hangout spot to do Wendigo and Vampire during the day. I'll try to be more out and about today and tomorrow.

Wendigo Woods was decent enough. The actors got into their roles and the pathway was used pretty well. Most of the "guards" were stationed around the Aquitaine entrance and the roamers were walking around the plaza so there was quite a bit of dead space toward Rhinefeld/Alpengeist. The clipboards as noisemakers was a nice touch but the makeup didn't look too good on some of the actors so it was hard to tell if they were just actors or random guests. Not bad for opening night really. I'm really hoping we see more wendigos than the prop they have sitting in the plaza. (4/5)

Vampire Point was somewhat better than last year. Moving all the actors out of the carousel plaza and into the town makes for a more "intimate" experience. The tighter pathways also kinda makes up for the somewhat short staffing they seem to have (I think I counted 5-6 actors roaming around even though Wendigo had more). That being said, there's still little to no props for the actors to use so they're all out in the open. The scares were ok, but I didn't really see them scaring much outside of a few people. (4/5)

Thanks PK for going more in-depth than I did- better explanation than I could have given. Since I seem to be on my island of loneliness with my opinions towards WW, I'll go ahead and explain where I'm coming from. My goal here isn't to try and get people to not like the area. I'm glad people do like it (seriously), but WW just wasn't my thing. (Also I can be an overly wordy little shit sometimes, so my apologies if any of this is confusing).

Judging the area based off of scares for me, after reflection, isn't fair. Considering I have never been scared in a Terror-tory or scare zone, that criteria would mean that all previous attempts by the park would be negative in my eyes (which is not the case).

That being said, immersion is a better term for the area, I agree. Seriously guys, if you're able to go in the day and see all the little details first, do it- it's hard to catch everything at night. I was also a big fan of the lighting.

So then, what were my issues with the area? Intially, it was that there was no Wendigo actually roaming around. Apparently there was one, so that is no longer an issue. Morseo, my issue was with the Drill Sergeant scare actors (the infected people were fine, though).

My initial emotion when entering a Terror-tory/house/etc. is the one that sticks with me the strongest. When I entered WW, that wasn't anxiety/fear/panic, but annoyance. It was the first time I'd felt annoyed with anything at HOS (Demon Street is more along the lines of apathy). [Yes, I know they are not real drill sergeants]. I do think the immersion aspect is moving in the right direction for HOS and I hope they are able to take points on the theming/lighting to other areas.

I probably won't get to go again, but I'm excited to hear how the area is at the end of the season when everyone has found their groove. Knowing my opinions, this will end up being one of the most liked areas of the park this year.

Signed-
The guy who like RoAE the first year when everyone hated it.

TL; DR: Immersion- good. Drill sergeants- annoying.

I'm back once again to ask about Bring a Friend for Free deal. I was informed that on the two upcoming Fridays (19th and 26th). That you can bring a friend for free if you are a Passmember. Is this true? and can someone point me in the right direction to find out how to do it?

Don't start me on Chucky. The guy does this at Kings Dominion all the time, and now he's at Busch. Kill me
