Immersion is the word for WW and I quite like what they did. I felt the decor could use some more to make it look less like New France, but what the actors were doing was very cool. Just a very brief description of what I saw, there were Drill Sargent type characters barking at people to evacuate the infected area, but there are also infected scientists that are begging for help, crawling on the ground acting very injured, and so on. It's pretty neat.
Random cool WW bit: There is audio and spotlight set up so occasionally it would seem like there's a helicopter flying by. Really neat.
Thanks PK for going more in-depth than I did- better explanation than I could have given. Since I seem to be on my island of loneliness with my opinions towards WW, I'll go ahead and explain where I'm coming from. My goal here isn't to try and get people to not like the area. I'm glad people do like it (seriously), but WW just wasn't my thing. (Also I can be an overly wordy little shit sometimes, so my apologies if any of this is confusing).
Judging the area based off of scares for me, after reflection, isn't fair. Considering I have never been scared in a Terror-tory or scare zone, that criteria would mean that all previous attempts by the park would be negative in my eyes (which is not the case).
That being said, immersion is a better term for the area, I agree. Seriously guys, if you're able to go in the day and see all the little details first, do it- it's hard to catch everything at night. I was also a big fan of the lighting.
So then, what were my issues with the area? Intially, it was that there was no Wendigo actually roaming around. Apparently there was one, so that is no longer an issue. Morseo, my issue was with the Drill Sergeant scare actors (the infected people were fine, though).
My initial emotion when entering a Terror-tory/house/etc. is the one that sticks with me the strongest. When I entered WW, that wasn't anxiety/fear/panic, but annoyance. It was the first time I'd felt annoyed with anything at HOS (Demon Street is more along the lines of apathy). [Yes, I know they are not real drill sergeants]. I do think the immersion aspect is moving in the right direction for HOS and I hope they are able to take points on the theming/lighting to other areas.
I probably won't get to go again, but I'm excited to hear how the area is at the end of the season when everyone has found their groove. Knowing my opinions, this will end up being one of the most liked areas of the park this year.

The guy who like RoAE the first year when everyone hated it.
TL; DR: Immersion- good. Drill sergeants- annoying.
