Zachary .. Please check on the fog and staffing tomorrow. I've seen some tweets about no fog and major understaffing .. But only a few so idk about it yet

Got back a few minutes ago, but a few lessons from tonight (I'll do a full list of pros/cons in a bit):

- Vampire Point moving the shack (and scare actors) from the carousel to the first fountain makes the area feel less disjointed.

-Men in blue cargo pants yelling at me are not scary, but they are annoying.

-If you can't rap, don't.

We were just kidding, Matthew :)

So, I'm going to try and not make this a full trip report or an in-depth examination of the houses (or MSoRR), but I'm not making any promises. Pros and Cons listed below (If a house or area has no pros or cons listed it means I didn't have strong emotions either way for that area).

PROS:
-MSoRR was the first time I've been in the Globe since LR started (no, I haven't seen LR). Loved the stage and projections. Would have given the show a B+ (except for one little thing- see below)
-Vampire Point seemed more cohesive in how they laid out the area (the shack and scare actors being close to the first fountain when coming from New France).
-Wendigo Woods theming went really in depth and is something that is also really interesting during the day to look at. The lighting was also really well done.
- WW also did a good job in casting the "look" for the male scare actors

CONS:
-MSoRR would have been a B+….if not for the rapping. I don't blame the guy who took the part entirely (the initial listing for that position did have rapping as a desired skill), but I don't see the need for it. The rap was the first verse of Monster. It didn't seem that it added anything and instead took away from the performance.
-Vampire Point can be a bit jarring going directly from the scare actors to the more campy fright feast.
-Wendigo Woods. For starters I'll say I really wanted to like this area. However, the scare actors come across as they were told to act like drill sergeants. That doesn't give me any sort of scare. A bit more on WW below.
-13 seemed more off than normal. It wasn't the staffing, but there were parts that felt unfinished and/or really neglected.

Other observations:
-I always go the first week of HOS so my comparisons from year to year are based on that. I found, for the first week, that the park was staffed better than week 1 last year.
-I was lucky that I got to Bitten at the end of my night. It must have been right after it opened back up because the line was really short.
-The eggs were gone (I think) from RoAE. I liked them last year, but I know some people didn't care for them.
-When the "Cursed" song played in Oktoberfest, I didn't see anything happen. Not sure if anyone else did.
-Based on the picture posted, yes, the pirate makeup looks awful. I'll give credit to the middle guy, though- he was doing a great job. It's a shame there isn't a clown section just for him (I'm serious) because his creepy/menacing staring was on point (which I think works better with clowns). For the blue makeup, my thought was that maybe it had a better effect at night. Other than that I have no idea.

ETA: Regarding WW- I overheard two different groups, seemingly of two different age ranges, talking about two things: 1) How they wished the Wendigo was out and moving. 2) They weren't sold on the "scares" for WW

Last post for the night, but:

-BGWScream- they played it in Oktoberfest. Nothing happened from what I saw.

-PK- Definitely agree on a more in depth discussion of the WW scares. As you can see from my previous post my thoughts are scattered at best, so I'm not going to try that right now ;-D

One last thought that I had from WW (and I say this as someone who drinks pretty regularly, has no issue with the amount of alcohol that the park sells, and has seen more than a few drunk "alphas" get tossed out of bars for wanting to fight): The pessimist in me see the chance for a legitimate issue between the WW guards (all males, 6ft+ and around 200 lbs-- as I said, they did a good job casting them) and guests who feel the need to prove something. Hope I'm wrong here.

I went to the park for the last 30 minutes of open time because I was working on my Eagle Project right up until then. I REALLY liked wINDIGO Woods. Very well executed, except I asked one of the scare actors where the "wendigo" scare actor was, and he said he was on break. I think they spared no expense and did a really good job theming it.

You can bet that everything done by the entertainment department never spares an expense. In fact they commonly go over even when the product is terrible.
