Of course, because as we know there is no talent whatsoever in the VA area. All talent is drawn inexorably and completely to NYC. If Scott didn't go to NYC for talent, there would be no shows at Busch Gardens.

they have castings all over the country..including...wait for it. drumroll please.    virginia.....  gasp.

They advertise all over the place, and may hold auditions in different locations, but the current leadership of Entertainment has made it clear that they consider New York City the only important source of performers. They've spent years and a lot of money making a big deal out of a NYC connection, and making NYC-based performers a priority. The presumed, projected superiority of NYC hires is insulting and pretentious. There is talent everywhere, not just NYC. A regional park with a great history of local talent should be proud of that.

Exactly!!! It's all about "name brand". Anyone hears New York and their eyes and ears already see and hear greatness despite the dwindling talent level of the park as a whole. You can put a tux on a goat...but he's still a goat.

LR has two people originally from Virgina.

Not necessarily. Just talked to three of the cast members today. Two originally from VA Beach, and one from Richmond, but they all live up in New York.

Plus, I've heard one of the performers is from and currently does live in Virginia.

Hmm. I guess I haven't met that one. It's hard to keep track of a show with so many different casts. Back on the topic of Howl-O-Scream, I wonder how the park is going to market this event. Is it possible they have something else up their sleeves? I would guess that since Catacombs and 13 are returning, I would at least expect to see some changes to Catacombs. I have no idea what the park plans to do with that maze. Chances are, neither do they. Even though that maze is very old, it has so many redeeming factors. They are able to change the layout slightly each year. This is because the set pieces are completely transportable. The last time I checked, the entire maze is able to be packed up into two large flatbed trucks. This gives the maze much more flexibility than any of the others. The thing that I find funny about Catacombs, and most attractions in Williamsburg, is that the majority of the set is built in sections at an off-site location in Tampa. Meanwhile, Busch Gardens Tampa has most of their mazes built off-site in Missouri. Does anybody know if/how Williamsburg test runs their houses?

Catacombs is great because of that. There are returning and familiar parts, but each year it changes and gives you a different look. I really do enjoy having such a flexible maze because it makes it last longer.

If you compare Catacombs to Bitten, I'd much prefer Catacombs stick around longer because it can easily be changed up. Bitten is very permanent and stale, after a year or two it should have gone. That is a major disadvantage.

Haunted attractions in general are meant to be temporary and should provide an unexpected experience each year. Bitten has proven that having the same thing for a long while gets really old.
