Guys, I think I just caught onto something the park/social media team is doing, and it's actually pretty creative.
About a month ago [Edit: It was really a week ago. Time flies.] someone (who I thought was nuts at the time) posted to the BGW Facebook page about "strange happenings" at the park. This was before Zach's Wendigo announcement. "She" just posted again under the name Amy Malone about 7 hours ago.
The most recent post on the Facebook page is 2 down from Luke's village band pic. The link to Amy's website is here http://accursedoccurrences.blogspot.com/2014/08/strange-and-unexplained-happenings.html
Both her Facebook page and the website "accursed occurrences" were started in late June.
Her most recent Facebook post: I went back to the Busch Gardens to see if I could spot anything out of the ordinary. It took me a while, but as I was walking I found these deep scratches in a tree near the back of the park. I’m not an animal expert, but I’m betting these weren’t made by a Clydesdale. [Picture of claw marks in a tree]
She also posted August 1: "I heard about some sightings of an unidentified creature near a theme park in Williamsburg. It didn’t take me long to figure out they meant Busch Gardens. So, I came to Williamsburg and I’m pretty sure I saw something. Posted it on the blog and am continuing the search " http://accursedoccurrences.blogspot.com/2014/08/theres-definitely-something-in-woods.html " on the BGW FB page.
It also looks like the broken fence picture (posted August 5th by Virginia Park…I mean seriously her name would have to be Gardenia Busch to be more obvious) is part of this marketing as well.
It's nice to see them trying something new (this actually somewhat meets my desire for a Blair-Witch-feel for this new Terror-tory!), but it looks like no one has caught on yet on the Facebook page. If anything, this will be interesting to watch,
[Edit 2: Clarity]
