Oh my gosh that gave me a scare! I hope we see the return of Scarecrows, and maybe the apple harvest festival. (Just kidding.) Is there any more information about what's going into the Terror-Tory?

With Props like this being manufactured it disturbs me that parks can't find a way to do scarzones with spiders n such...
I need one of these for my house.

It's a shame the park wouldn't even try to get something like this for a spider scare zone. though that might be more suitable for a house than a scare zone. as it's supposed to be looking like it came out of the ceiling.

Anyone know if they'll end up changing Saturdays back to midnight closing,? I sure hope so

I doubt it. There is always a debate about the time. Some say it's because of Kingsmill, others say it's because of curfew. Last time I checked if you fall into the curfew laws you are exempt if you're traveling to or from work, an emergency, or on an errand for your parents. I wish they would close at midnight, but I seriously doubt they will ever go back to it.

Zachary is always hiding something.

Such as his face. :p

I've seen it!

I'm very in favor of midnight closings. More time to hit everything, and more likely that the crowd will lessen as the night goes on. (maybe?) I plan on going opening weekend, crowds were very light last year, and I got to fully experience everything. (Or lack thereof)

Kingsmill has no effect on the park as far as how late they can stay open. The only way Kingsmill can dictate their operating hours is if noise is a factor. During Howl-o-Scream, I would think the noisiest thing would be the whistle on the trains or the coasters in general.

Curfew becomes an issue with the workforce. Many high school students do work at the park. However, curfew will not effect them because as mentioned earlier, if you are driving to or from work you are okay. Also, a lot of team members get rides home from parents. Further negating the curfew issue.

The only issues I could see that would prevent opening later would primarily be, money based. If the park is consistently hitting capacity and staying full later in the evening they are clearing making the profit to justify staying open late. Also, that extra hour does need to be budgeted for. The main thing with budgeting to be concerned about is supplies and labor. If you total those two thing together for an extra hour each night all together, it can get expensive.

I have a feeling that the park was not able to budget for that extra time, or they don't believe they won't make the profit they desire. Either way, it all comes down to money.

Also don't forget, they could be saving midnight closings as a surprise to announce during the Pass Member Appreciation Weekend meeting.

Regardless of the legality of curfew and work commuting, there can be a lot of political pressure to not push the boundaries of curfew, both for your teenage employees and teenage guests. Especially for an event like HoS, which is considered to be "teen-focused" by the City. The powers-that-be in Williamsburg are already hardasses about Halloween and teens in general. I hope BGW can swing it, but I imagine that the park is under significant pressure to not stay open until midnight.

Well they did have midnight closings up but they took a down, I hope they put it back up!, and you are right about the curfew, so it shouldn't effect the employees but who knows

A little of column A, a little of column B. The oft-cited "curfew" that means teens can't drive after midnight (barring a few exceptions) is state-wide. But the City of Williamsburg/JCC have their own rules for things like unaccompanied minors being out past a certain point, no costumes on Halloween over age 13 (seriously), etc.

HAHA! There was no curfew when I was in high school! Oh yea, we could make as many trips around the strip as we wanted in VA Beach!
