^ IMO there's a difference between being away from typical guest areas (Fear Fair) and being in a parking lot as you walk past the back side of DarKastle.

I'm fine with the greenhouses being away from typical guest areas and get the connection to the story, but I think walking by these areas disrupts the illusion.

Even Universal utilizes backstage areas for haunt queues.... but it's only a seasonal "disruption," aesthetically speaking.

...and then there's Disney's Animal Kingdom where, year-round, one sees the unthemed back of Everest upon turning into the parking lot.

Don't forget that Magic Kingdom guests entering and exiting the park during parade/firework hours as well high capacity day are routed backstage of MSUSA.

Also on high capacity days (4th of July) BGW allows guests to exit using the service road from Apollo's Chariot. Also, don't forget all the backstage tours the park offers. Those break the illusion for guests all the time.

Love that Verbolten pic. Thanks for posting Zach!

Are their any other rides that have a special effect for HOS?

anyone see the blog from BG?

My favorite haunted house was the all-new Root of All Evil. Located in Germany, this greenhouse is gardening gone completely awry. As you walk through a series of greenhouses and outdoor mazes filled with tall bushes and shrubbery, gruesome gardeners and botched botanists guard the greenery, shrubs, plants, and perennials that have infected them. The makeup was amazing. Watch out for grassy ghillie suits, amphibious creepers, and landscapers wielding weed wackers and chain saws.

I guess for a person's first visit to HOS it would be rather impressive...those of us who have been going since it's inception, however...meh.

Still trying to hold off judgement until my trip Saturday...will definitely let ya'll know how it went.

By the way, here's an old, hilarious entry about a rather snarky person's HOS experience from a few years back. Still laugh when I read it, and it brings back memories...

And this, folks, is what happens when bloggers are only in it for the free stuff they get in the mail. The writer of that post is a freelance blogger the park invited to their exclusive social media gathering, Fright Night. For anyone who doesn't know about Fright Night, it's basically an event where the park gives people who are active in local social media circles a ton of free food and various other perks with the goal of getting a bunch of good press out of it. As shown above, it normally results in what is basically marketing BS being spread like wildfire. So glad I don't have to be a part of their little system. </rant>

I still think theming along the queue line for RoAE and/or putting up barriers would do a world of good for the maze.

Exactly. This is EXACTLY what is going on in park circles with Social Media everywhere. They reward bloggymommies and lifeless twits with free stuff to write glowing reviews regardless of the product. WDW surely does it and I have witness a multi hundred dollar bar tab get written off for a blogger whose review I read a few days later last month.

So I can hit up the Pub this weekend and the Open Casket, find myself stupidly inebriated, say nice things about BG...and have them write it off?

Geez, who do I call for this deal?

No idea, but it's a hilarious read. And the website's Halloween homage is second to none..

Looks like it was taken as the hordes were exiting their staging area next to Bitten. Happens around 6pm every night.

I will be at the park tomorrow and Saturday. I hope they have made some steps to improve the first weekend bugs.

Any requests?
