Is there a specific reason none of this has been confirmed.

Confirmed when the park announces it.

As for the entrance/ exit deal for the new house. I'm thinking the entrance will be the gate beside the radio booth and the exit will be beside the Festhaus going through the smoking section.

not sure the exit will be around the smoking area of the festhause, that is normally where the cafateria people/festhause actors take break, and worker's lockers are there too. unless they built a temp wall there......

During high capacity days of Illuminights they allow guests into that parking lot to view fireworks. Their idea of hiding those lockers and break area is putting up a wall of black curtains which you can totally see past. However, they have built temporary walls before for other houses -cough, cough- Fear Fair -cough, cough- Oh I think we can expect to see a lot of boxes.

EDIT:

First, welcome to the forums!

2nd, I actually worked in that section of the park last HOS so I fully know everything in that area. More than likely there will be a wall there if that happens to be where they place the exit. But I think Party Rocker is right about there being enough room for an entrance and exit in that other location.

If anyone is at the park tomorrow or this upcoming week, take picture of the Oktoberfest bridge. I here they are putting Howl-O-Scream stuff on tonight.

Entertainment always does a mad rush to tear down Illuminights decor and put up HOS decor on the San Marco bridge the night of the last day of Illuminights. This year they should really be rushing. I used to work late there and remember seeing them put things up last year. It is quite entertaining, more so than almost any show there.

It seems to me that in scare zones or haunted houses, the scare actors don't scare the young ones as much as they do teenagers/adults. Is it just me or do they mean to do that so they don't get alot of complaints?

i've been working HOS for 4 years now, even if they were to say its ok to scare kids, we don't! we try not to cause we know it can traumatize. if they ask or just happen to be near when we scare we can't help it but we try not to. as far as teens........those are the bread and butter!

in fact one of the guys in my group last year scared a lady ,accadently, who had a stroller...........when she screamed, she dumped her stroller, thankfully the kid was laughing on the ground. but that guy we happly call "strollermaster" now! :-D

as far as tearing down Illuminights i have a buddy who starts today working as tech, he said he will start tearing down everything starting at 5 tonight. techs are working 5-8 starting tonight, 15 hour days, i feel for him!

and ty for welcoming me jmu2011, i look forward to enjoying it with the rest of you!

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

You guys have probably seen this but I just noticed this message regarding the park's plans to make HOS more adult themed.

"Too scary for your family?
Visit us during the day to experience family-friendly rides, Sesame Street Forest of Fun and Land of the Dragons children’s areas, and up-close animal encounters perfect for fall fun. Once the clock strikes 6 p.m., the Howl-O-Scream scares begin which may not be suitable for young children."

We got about 3 weeks left right? Any more hints on the new house or show?

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

I remember seasons pre-Illuminights when you'd see signs throughout the park in early August that read something to the effect of, "Please pardon our appearance as we prepare for Howl-O-Scream." Not only is the prep pushed back 2-3 weeks now, but they also have to take down all the individual show sets and each hamlet's tinsely crap...

On the HOS website, both 13 and Deadline now specifically state they will be open daily at 5:30pm. Nothing listed for the rest yet.

I like this. Even if its only a half hour earliar it should shortan lines somewhat.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

13 is so stupid, you enter in the back of the building and it doesn't even look scary. It looks horrible, there isn't any think on the backside of EITA why would you ever enter back there?

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

That's a good point about 13. If they reversed it, I wonder if there would be less of a backup where the final cramped walkway is. Plus if you come in from that side when it's still light out and it's dark in there, you will hardly be able to see anything. The problem is there's no room for a line there.

They've said that in years past, and nothing was different, just as many kids

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

Yepp that means nothing. Fiends had the SAME warning posted out front last year in a couple places that was very loud to see. We all know what good that did.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

People are going to bring there kids no matter what. Then when they get scared or cry it ruins the whole exiperence. The only way to fix this problem is making HOS an upcharge event.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

I might be heading to the park today for a little while, its always less busy in the rain. Anything specific yall want me to check out? Also, this discussion has been beaten to death, but the 18+ rule would be extremely unfair. Sure, kids under 18 might be scared, but i know a 20-year-old who is terrified of the mazes. It doesn't have to do as much with age as it does realizing that it's all fun and decorations. I love HoS and I'm only 15, about to turn 16. We just need to get over the fact that there are horrible parents in the world who don't realize what they're doing to their kids. Also, I know i don't post much, but I'm here, watching you all discuss. ;)

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

There are definetly bad parents in the world, thats for sure. But if a 10 year old can go through a haunted house without screaming and crying, let him go through! But i think we should stop talking about this as it tends to bring up arguements.
