RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

As long as the preschool passes bring more bodies through the gates, BGW has no problem with implementing them. I personally think BGW needs more children's activities during the day other than a few shows here and there.

I know a lot of parks do costume contests and hand out candy during the daytime. BGW should do the same.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

Well, the only fact I agree with is if the park is going to have preschool passes during HoS then they need to do more Kidsiderate stuff during the day, and then scare all the little kiddies away so that by night the park can be as dark and scary as possible, sorta like Dr, Jekeyl and Mr Hyde.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

I have a few suggestions that may help Busch Gardens Williamsburg be more apt to draw in thrill-seekers this year during Howl-O-Scream. Howl-O-Scream at BGW is extremely well-done and is an obvious success, but I think if it were just a tad scarier it would be on top. I think bringing back the clowns and the lumberjacks was a great move. But here are some ideas that I absolutely know would suit the park well:

1) Add colored (white, red, or black) eye contacts to some of the scare squad where it fits. It gives it that "not human" look and really adds some scare factor. * an example attached as an image

^ I like how this guy thinks- ventriloquist dolls scare me to death and would fit perfectly in Fear Fair.

Welcome to the forums by the way!

Now there are some fresh new ideas! I would have completely forgot about colored eyes or the ventriloquist dolls! I think the colored eyes would scare me more than the dolls, but those are excellent ideas and really would improve the HOS atmosphere.

All the time we think about what houses to add, where to put more actors or themeing, but we hardly ever stop to think about what costumes (colored eyes) or other props (dolls) that can be used. Yes, it is good now but lets expand the realm of our thinking and starting thinks more out there!

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

Thanks guys! The only bad thing I hear from my friends about BGW's HOS is that it should be scarier. I never criticize the park and am never negative, so I just try to think of a way to improve it or create new ideas.

But I thought those would be 2 examples of what I think would be a nice addition to the 2012 season. I found a mask online of a ventriloquist doll that is pretty intense looking just as an example that a potential scarer could use.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

Kingsmill can easily be avoided as an issue, I don't know why in the world the park hasn't moved to York yet, but if they need to they will.

Curfew is understandable but then again doesn't Tampa Bay have a curfew too?

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

Well I think curfew applies to public property honestly. I think curfew means, "No one under [insert designated age here] is allowed to be on public property past [insert designated time here] until [insert another designated time here]." I don't think curfew is a major issue, after all BGW is considered private property since it is owned by a private company, which then it would probably be okay as long as teens get picked up and don't drive home afterward.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

there is already a ventriloquist tent at fear fair....the one actor wore the standard ventriloquist costume...modeled after the puppet...it was the fourth tent...good idea though

I agree they could introduce contacts...if approved they are allowed to wear contacts...but that would be a good addition

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

I must not have seen him this year. Maybe they should make it bigger because that is something that would scare people a lot more than a chicken costume

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

I believe the chicken costume was scrubbed into a static display after the first weekend due to exactly that.... not so scary... :p

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

hahaha! I agree with you! Hopefully the just fix it up a little because otherwise it was a great maze

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

I think if you are paying for the pass already, it just seems ridiculous to have to pay for HOS. and what if you don't do Chrismastown? I think that HOS and Christmastown should be included in the pass, since we are paying enough for it anyway. I loved HOS last year..first year I have ever been even a bit creeped out.

I agree with you that HOS and Christmastown should be included in the pass price and if was I will be willing to pay extra or have as a option to add to the pass.
