RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

This is what I meant regarding a maze themed to the dark side of the gardens. This a screen shot I took and edited to show how the idea could work. The queue would be long enough so it won't need to be extended like how Fear Fair's queue was extended through Roman Rapids. Plus, the queue can be elaborately themed. This also fits in because since the queue entrance is in DaVinci's Gardens, they can name the maze, The Dark Side of DaVinci's Gardens, or somewhere along those lines, since that area is "the gardens". Plus, it would be a great way to add a zombie scare zone, and a maze that features zombies! :D

I would also like to remind you the queue is very possible, they have used that way before as an extended queue for Wicked Woods in previous years.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

I actually think she chose a road that was designed to cut through the animals, however I dont think it would ever work because it cuts through far too much backstage.

Edit: If they used it in previous years this might be their reason for not using it now...

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

To be more honest, the blue line indicated on this picture shows the extended queue line for when Wicked Woods had a very long line, and if I am correct, they did this almost every Saturday night. Plus, with Howl-o-Scream constantly hitting maximum capacity, the line will be long regardless of where it is, I say this works because the queue would already be long as is, plus, remember the line for 13? It was almost always at least 2 hours long.

I honestly think it doesn't go through too much back area, only because it is just stables, and really more just open land, plus the train goes by it all the time, it is nothing new to guests.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

they will not put the queue line down through the corrals....zoo won't allow it...there will not be a maze in the far corral either.....this is a special purpose corral. also your first picture shows it going along the service road...this cuts off health services and maintenance and a handful of other entities from accessing fear fair and the back side of festa..not to mention access to the italy eba and back area of the san marco eatery...also I don't see a scarezone running down heart attack hill for obvious reasons...Safety being one of them...people are dying getting up there I doubt they want to get spooked...everything else looked ok...we will have to see about fhp...not sure about that area back there yet...or the picnic area usage...

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

I don't see any of those ever happening until busch ups the budget for the event.

Also, I can only think of what busch's insurance providers would think about scaring people on a steep concrete stairway and a path over water. I can see it now, A ghille suit guy getting punched in the face then tumbling down the Scotland hill then falling into the lake...

The houses may be a possibility. I think they would pull a festhaus park on the two houses in festa, and link them together and send them down a path to one that leads into the other. Would be nice to see two outdoor houses linked together with the ending of one leading into the other. But I would imagine they would end them with the line headed out back where you came from... It would be nice to seem them add a haunt with no visible exit path that leads to another section of the park. It could be billed with something like "If you enter you wont return". The second house could exit through that one path that cuts through that you highlighted. And since it's such a long nice straight path, An extra long scare zone, ala Harvest hollow would be AMAZING.

Infact, I have an idea... They modify Fear fair to put a "hypnotist" at the end and he puts you to sleep and you walk through a pitch black tent that leads to the second house. In the tent a very tiny led blinks at the end every few seconds leading you to the start of the second maze, and the Hypnotist voice projects through the tent from speakers that are triggered by infrared break beams which will provide an added scare, and their can be actors inside with feather dusters... Once you enter the "dream world" via exiting the tent the hypnotist shows you your worse nightmares... Now that I think about it, this can be a kind of sequel of the widely popular "13: Your numbers up", but it would have to be more over the top a zaney to fit with the dream world, fear fair and the clowns of festa italia. The Hypnotist could even be a little mini "event icon"... The scare zone leading out of this house down the path to the lady of the garden's garden can simply be "the fog", The place you are right before you wake up... And you see projections of the nightmares, but now they are unrestrained from the dream world and they are there to keep you from waking up (Spooky I know right?), All of the lady of the gardens minions are there to keep you from her gardens. Lots of fog creating a haze of uncertainty about what lies before you...
You exit through the garden (which can be enhanced to be an impressive ending to would could be an impressive series of attractions, and as a center piece of the event...).

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

Personally I hope it stays a free event since i go to HOS at least once a weekend and i only go to Christmas Town once a season.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

In reference to the HAH scare zone, that is just a general area, there is a nice wide open patio at the bottom which good scare can be placed, I don't see them actually scaring on the bridge or stairs for obvious reasons.

Regarding the Italy area, I think I could change it up to still produce a good idea. There is so much potential with the area that they just aren't working towards. Oh, and that far small end corral has been used to house fireworks during the day all throughout Illuminights, from what I saw form a train ride, so as far as that land goes, it could be used for a maze. And it isn't like they can't divide the other larger corrals if they needed that smaller one.

I really wish the park just over themed, over staffed, and made larger scare zones with no bypasses. This would amp up the scares to a level that we need, it would also provide for a more intense event and therefore the park being much much more stern about their warnings. Also, more detail in the scare zones would be nice, I loved Scavengers because it was so well detailed, but I do not like the generic wooden walls and crates in the scare zones.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

I do remember a couple years ago a maze letting you enter near the Battering Ram and going all the way through to were Festa was (a maze with really tall creatures always walking around I don't remember the name of the maze though) I really don't believe they will create a second area beside Festa because that path would be used for the people who are working howl O Scream to get to the breakrooms without being hounded by guest. I worked the train in 2006 the last year of the haunted train tear tear :( lady in the Festhause graveyard with baby crying **with the killer mosquitos) and that was my biggest fear getting around the corner of the Festhause and getting hounded by 50 million guest that saw me in the graveyard before I can even take my break. Wish I cast a spell POOF POF BE GONE WITH YA MUHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!" but that's just my opinion.

Left a part out lol

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

I will re-edit my version of Italy for HoS.

EDIT: Just finished my proposed plan for Italy. This time, they can do what they did with Masqerage and Wicked Woods. With the exception, turn the RR Queue into a clown themed house, and turn the Fear Fair grounds into a Dark Side of the Gardens maze. I actually have a picture that I edited that would fit well for the garden themed maze.

Also, to make it clear with this garden themed maze. Remember those hedge mazes that you actually have to find your way out? There are a few in Virginia, and some are open all year round. Well, imagine that but with lots of fog, dim lights, and foresty creatures scaring you along your way? That was my idea for it.

EDIT: Just added YouHow2's idea into a screen shot, the black line would be Fear Fair and the red line would be the proposed 2nd house.

Also, a picture, I edited, that provides more description to this garden maze idea.

the back corral was only utilized for the 3-6 of july for fireworks....it is still a special purpose corral and will not be used as of December due to new additions... and divide the corrals? I'm guessing you've never actually dealt with zoo.

Scavengers was not really detailed at all....they took the shacks from harvest hallow...added some swing out fences like in unleased and stuck body parts on...well themed...eh...

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

It was much more themed than previous and other scare zones, the most work I have ever seen put into one.

EDIT: Besides Unleashed and Stitchin Time.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

I thought both the loggers and the clowns were on par with scavengers/unleashed/stitchin time....

I can't breathe OMG Maybe I should just cancel my passport now. The preschool passports are back and are valid to October 28, 2012. What is Busch Gardens thinking??

Calm down. Lets remember HOS doesn't start till 6pm. AND HOS is still during the park's regular operating schedule since the park is fully functioning during that time...everyone can relax.

Haha (sorry, made me laugh for a second), nothing has any major change to howl-o-scream this year except the attractions (maybe). Still, I think having Preschool Passes valid during HoS is extremely redundant, even if it doesn't start until 6pm.
