RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

This might be a dumb question, but....

Why can't there be a pass setup where the passholder picks what special event they would like for free?

i.e.--You want HOS on your pass, you got it....but if you want Christmas Town, you have to pay, and vice-versa.

Would that be possible?

Excellent first post! I love it.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

I am sure that would please a lot of people. It would make it easier so those who would rather CT be free, have it free and those who rather have HoS free can have it free. Not a bad idea at all.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

Whatever the park decides to do with its future of passes, someone will always be upset by the change. A quick glance at the Facebook page will confirm this. Regardless of what the park does, someone is going to cancel their pass, and someone else is going to start buying passes.

I think how they handle passes(pricing) being open year round will be the bigger issue here...

Also, lets move the discussion of Season Passes here.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

So let's get real, there is a strong possibility of the park charging for Howl-o-Scream. Honesty, I think it will happen in 2012 or 2013. I can see then trying to make a real neat theme for 2013 since it would most likely play off the number 13. However, back to charging. Since they are probably willing to charge for Howl-o-Scream, and the park has definitely shown it will not stick to their KidSiderate policy during Howl-o-Scream hours, they will probably amp up the scare zones so they are better themed, in a larger area, with no bypass hopefully. As well as, bringing back Deadline, Fear Fair, and possibly Catacombs for maybe one last year. Then they just might add 2 or so houses.

My 2012 predictions:

Haunted Houses/Mazes
- Deadline
- Fear Fair
- Possibly Catacombs
- Something to replace Bitten, hopefully
- Something better to replace 13, or a return of Cavern of Darkness, hopefully
- Add a new one somewhere else in the park or if FHP is FULLY available, add in some really well-themed ones there.

Scare Zones
- Grin and Scare It (Hopefully, all of Festa)
- England, they need to bring back those faceless people, they did a great job.
- Scavengers, judging by the amount of work gone into this scare zone in particular, we could see an expanded version throughout most of Scotland.
- Unleashed, werewolves will be 97% back, hopefully more themeing and an extended version of the area.
- New France, chainsaws are always a must, they have become just as required as the wolves. Hopefully they can change and actually look like loggers instead of butchers.
- A hopefully better attempt at adding vampires.
- Wondering zombies all over Oktoberfest.

Shows
- MSR needs either a better revamp or replacement. 2011, the stage looked great, the new tap dance bit looked great, but I was getting sick of some of the same drumming and such.
- Hopefully Dig it Up tries to make a comeback from being rejected.
- Fiends is now a 100% must have

All in All
- The Lady of the Gardens returns and will hopefully walk around the park
- The Dark Side of the Gardens song becomes released to the public for sale/download
- I can see them running the park like Christmas Town and opening at 6pm only with a $30 admission fee.
- No age restriction, yet?

That is my thoughts, hopes, and desire for future Howl-o-Scream's to come.

I see the park being open all day during Howl-o-Scream days at the normal prices and I also see them charging this $30 after 6pm. The only ones who come after 6pm will more in likely be locals.

I think that a way to get the "best of both worlds" would be to start by including Howloscream in the season pass with "blackout" dates.

That's similar to what Universal does: Premium Passholders receive one free ticket to Halloween Horror Nights when they purchase their pass (valid on specific nights of the week).

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

At least that way, Busch can control how many pass members go certain dates

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

How about if HOS and were up-charged, but Pass Members received a certain number of free admissions, and every admission after that is up-charged. For instance:

1 Park/Silver - 1 HOS, 1 CT
2 Parks/Gold - 2 HOS, 2 CT
9 Parks/Platinum - 4 HOS, 4 CT

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

How likely is it that the park does what Tampa does for HoS? I can see CT being added and then a Tampa style Howl-o-Scream.

EDIT: The 2012 Schedule is up on the main site, looks like no big changes to it this year, still says Howl-o-Scream is 10am-10pm/11pm.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

I love Howl-O-Scream and I hate that they took down the "Haunted Train" but anyway remember when it was 12 MIDNIGHT and there was an actual MIDNIGHT EVENT what happened to that like really that was the best part and i was 9 or 10 and now its 'Kid Friendly' ugh

When you were 9 or 10 I'm pretty sure Howl-O-Scream was no where near as scary as it is now. Also, it would help if there was some punctuation in your post...

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

Perhaps it could. The queue could go from behind the Battering Ram all the way back to the stables (I say this because the DaVinci's Garden would make for a great entrance area to that kind of maze), where they could set-up a maze, like an actual one with the huge hedges such as in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Add some gillie suit guys, the Lady walking around, and maybe some zombies perhaps. It would be cool since you have to literally find your way out, and while your doing that your being scared by actors.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

There's no way they could fit a house in Da Vinci's Gardens. A scare zone however...? Frankly I was surprised they didn't do that this year. Seemed like kind of an obvious opportunity.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

They could have atleast had her walking around the park, instead of being a statue. Hopefully they use her more next season. Even if it's not a haunted house.

I did not say IN DaVinci's Gardens, although that would be interesting. I meant have the queue start there and lead the queue out to the stables, which is where they could set it up, like right behind Fear Fair. The two mazes could be next to each other, except one queue starts at Roman Rapids, and one queue starts at DaVinci's Gardens, sort of like how they had the queue for Wicked Woods start behind the Battering Ram, same concept.
