RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

I still feel like if it was faked, the park would have publicly stated that it is. This little issue is causing some rucus and if it was faked, the park would let it be known. Especially during a newpaper interview. Public relations 101, dance around the actual question.
You guys are thinking about this on a micro scale. It's bigger than that guys.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

It took 2 emails, but I have received an email response from the park confirming that this survey is indeed from the park.

Question: To me he seemed alittle "short" with me in the email, does it seem that way to anyone else?

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

More than likely a ton of negative reception from passholders. I think the idea has kinda backfired. There are a ton of ticked off passholders. That's reason to be irritated.

I'm still shaking my head at all of this. If they were making a drastic change like this in the "near future" it would already be known. More or less to warn pass holders of the upcoming change.

The assumption in buying a season pass is that HOS is included, technically, they would have to give atleast a year in advanced notice for this right?

So everyone running around "OMG BUSCH IS TAKING AWAY HOS FROM US" is rather silly. At the end of the day, it's still a survey...

Though I do have *POSSIBLE* info. It's third hand info though. (source, grandparents, me) So i'm taking it with a grain of salt. My grandparents are getting old too, so i'm taking that as it is also.

I'd expect the passholders to have that mindset to make their complaint known. It's bogus and it will hurt their numbers.

Well that's who I was referring too. Busch wont charge for HOS until they make an announcement plenty ahead of time.

It wont be a "Oh hey btw, HOS is now an upcharge event. SOL passholders."

also, # < $
I'm almost positive they've done the math on this. There must be a need for change that we don't see.

I'd love to see the math tonight. Last weekend of HOS, rainy, about 8,000 people there. They would have taken a bloodbath if tonight was an upcharge for passholders.

Look, apparently there is something they want/need to change. DO we run the park? No.
Since we now know that the survey is real, can you accept the fact that there will be change of some sort?

If you don't want to, that's fine, cancel your pass if you don't agree with the change(you wont). In all reality, it's not the end of the world. I don't understand the up in arms reaction to this. Again, they crunch the numbers, they hire the workers, they will make the choices they decide too. I would say thus far, Blackstone has done a great job at making money. They have everything planned out way ahead of time. This isn't an all of a sudden thought.

Please for the love of god think big picture here. The Busch we know is changing. Get used to it.

I might. I come too far to make an HOS upcharge worth it for me... the way the event is right now. Like we chatted a bit - If the event grows and changes into something more adult, those changes may be worth an upcharge. We'll have to wait it out and see. I'll remain cautiously optimistic.

Spokesman Kevin Crossett: “Bear in mind these are simply questions on a survey. They don’t reflect any changes planned at the park.”

There might be change coming but if the negative feedback keeps coming back on it then it won't be an upcharge change. Haha.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

That a pretty open ended prediction anyway. Define "change." The park is constantly "changing." It always has. If they make ANY changes in the future (which they will) you can just say: "Ah ha! I TOLD you there'd be changes. Nobody believed me." :p

I have a feeling that this isn't something the Park wants to do, but something Carl Lum wants to do. AFAIK, he's the only one in upper management that use to work at BGT, and working in Accounting he would have seen how profitable it was for them to have an up-charge event.

I have a feeling that the park doesn't know what it wants to do, but Blackstone and Carl Lum are both pushing hard for an up-charge event. Blackstone saw it work at Universal and Mr. Lum saw it work at BGT. Unfortunately, I fear that neither of them have enough experience with the Williamsburg market to know what they're getting into. I'm not auguring that it'll work, I'm auguring that it'll happen.

This. Good lord guys. If they want it to happen, they will make it happen.
Argue with me all you want. Just realize there are bigger things brewing, and a silly upcharge for an event will be the least of your concerns.

Also, you of all people you understand that's just a scripted answer. I can look at 100's of different companies that have the same answer in their book.
