RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

Just like the names on the survey for Verbolten? Everyone said the names on the Verbolten survey would not be the name of the ride, and correct me if I am wrong, but Verbolten WAS on the survey. Not to say all surveys will happen, but if the park is willing to send a survey out on it, I am sure they are seriously considering it.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

Was there a survey about the train?

At the social media event last year AND this year Phil Rayburn specifically told the group that the train would NOT be returning. He even started out his talk this year with it. ("Before anybody asks, let's get this out of the way, we have no plans to bring the haunted train back.") He did qualify it was a "you can never rule anything out completely," but he has seemed pretty clear that there are no plans to bring the train back.

BTW, the reasoning: "it simply costs too much." They put the money in the houses instead. That's according to the man himself.

There is a rumor I have heard that KD is going to up-charge their Haunt next year. So this could be in response to that.
If BG plans to Up-Charge HOS it can have good results and bad results. the good being that the crowds would be smaller cause people don't want to pay and it would make them more money. but the bad being that people are probably gonna complain and pass members are going to get mad. but hey if they do I still get in for free anyway (thank God for a job at bg :p )

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

^ That seems like a reasonable move. What about pass members get Fridays and Sundays for free? $15 up-charge for Saturdays.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

That would make less draw on Saturdays, which means shorter lines on Saturdays

So you are comparing the name of a coaster to a major change in operating procedure that will have a tremendous impact on guest's visiting trends? Lol.

How about plat pass holders are void from it. A ton of people will be canceling if that happens. It will hurt this park as well as the others.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

i'm OK with paying for it, if it's bigger and better. I only really go during howl o scream about once or twice. I don't think it will have quite the repercussions you think it will scout. (BTW, what's up with the name change?) Sure some people will complain, but if it's not too big of an inconvenience, most people will accept it and move on. And if there was anytime to do it, it would be during a year with a new roller coaster going in to offset the attendance hit.

I think they could also just offer a discounted price for pass members like they do for Christmastown. The problem is they need a bigger budget. The reason they scrapped Dig it Up was because of budget concerns. I don't know if that had more to do with Mach Tower and Verbolten though. I'm not quite sure they would be coming from the same pot of money.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

I'm on the fence for an upcharge HoS event. On the one hand I see the purpose of it. To weed out those people who have children who don't listen to the warnings over the loud speakers, along with not reading the signs, and then complain about the event. Plus the possibility of the extra money being put into the following year's HoS to make it even scarier.

But, on the flip side, as people have said before, there is no real competition for the park. KD holds a similar event (and I remember it advertising that during the day they have a bunch of kid-friendly Fall activities for them to enjoy and then after a certain time its for the more adult crowd.] On top of the fact that they would have to have the hours to make the upcharge worth it. i would say extending the hours by at least one hour would be nice.

Personally, I don't want the event to be an extra charge. At this point, HoS is the only time of the year I can actually get to BG, so paying for a single day ticket plus HoS, wouldn't be worth it to me and my family. [Even with Military discounts]

And on a different note, I would like to see Bitten and 13 gone next year. Bitten is old, and 13 was just... ugh. It needs to be ramped up big time to compare with Dead Line and Fear Fair. As far as the shows go, Fiends needs a better story line, and the music needs to flow together better. They have the basics, they just need to fine tune it at this point. :)
