It isn't.

Yeah, he's correct. People have Halloween parties and other functions. Plus you get less out-of-towners who are staying close to home to prep for the holiday. The last weekend the past few years was a little lighter than the weeks before. Now, for the rain on Friday and Saturday pushing the local crowd to Sunday...hard to predict.

Sorry for the slight switch in topic, but has anyone been able to video tape any of the houses? I've seen most of them on YouTube, however I don't see a video posted for 13. I'm unable to visit HOS, so I'm yet to see, and am very interested in how some of the phobias played out (fear of heights, fear of going to sleep). So I was just curioius if anyone had, or planned on video taping this house, since tomorrow is the last day. Thanks.

So, just spent 3 days at Busch. Had an awesome time despite the freezing weather and rain.. thought HOS this year was the best year so far! Here are my thoughts on everything:
MAZES:
Deadline: thought this was awesome! Really good theming and the scares were very good! 9/10
Fear Fair: Oh jeesh... never have liked clowns.. pulled off really well though. The chicken room was interesting, but overall it scared the crap outta me! Great length too! 9/10
Bitten: Just the same as it ever has been. I dont think it has changed much since it first started. Not bad scares though! 7/10
Catacombs: Had high expectations for this one. Not as good as in previous years though.. too light inside the house. A few good scares though. 6/10
13: AMAZING! the best house! Thought the phobias were pulled off really well. The doctor, dentist and bedtime scences really got me. The bats and insects though, not so much. Got crazy scared though! Awesome! 10/10

SCAREZONES:
Grin and Scare it: Pretty good. Not a lot of room for too many scares, but the clowns popped out of nowhere. The clown with the puppet was the scariest! 7/10
Widow Makers: Was kindof disappointed. There were only about 2 guys in the scare zone that were actually getting people.. last year was better in New France! 7/10
Stitchin Time: Haha! This was actually a really good scarezone to me! Lots of good scares in this area! 8/10
Scavengers: Obviously walked through at the wrong time... saw others get scared.. but not me. one crow was looking at someones phone pic! 4/10

SHOWS:
Fiends: Everytime I walked in to Festhaus this show was on.. haha. Honestly I did not think the costumes were that big of a deal.. the real problem was that the show was corny and lacked any real story... 4/10

Never did Unleashed, or Monster Stomp and only saw part of Jack is Back. Overall a great weekend and a great event with short lines and minimal crowds![/align]

October 30th visit

Arrived: 5:20; Left: Closing
Crowds: Alright. When we got there, satellite parking was half full, but we got a spot in Germany real close to the stairs. (Avg. wait time: 20min)

Rides:
Mach Tower (Wait: 1 Hour): Finally realized why MT was delayed nearly four months. This line was ridiculously slow, and when we got to the top, there was this deathly shaking noise that you never want to hear when on a ride. (Is that normal?) Grade: D

Houses:
Deadline (Wait: 20 minutes): Exactly the same thoughts as my last review. Acting is still so-so, scares minimal. Grade: C+

Bitten (Wait: 35 minutes): Bitten needs to go. This house was the exact same as last year, and I expected almost everything. And what's with all the sand? Grade: C-

13 (Wait: 26 Minutes): Much better this time than last time, but I'm not sure why. The 'gross out' rooms actually had actors in them, which helps, but that's not the main reason. Grade: A

Fear Fair (Wait: 10 Minutes): Not as good as last time. Many of the huts had absolutely no clowns in them, and there was really bad stacking. Grade: B-

Scare Zones
Stichin' Time: Did I come in at the wrong time? This place was dead. Grade: N/A
Widow Makers: Far and away the best SZ. Also fun to watch other people run. Needs more actors, though. Grade: B+
Unleashed: This one was pretty good, too. However, you could clearly see the actors. Grade: B-
Scavengers: Not very good. Most of the actors looked bored, and were chatting with guests. Grade: D+
Grin & Scare It: Not good or bad, but just in a terrible location. Grade: C+

Shows

Fiends: Corny and plotless, and with lip-synced cliche' Halloween music. Grade: F

Didn't do Catacombs or MSR.

Glad it evened out. It was weird. Between 3-4:30ish, the paths were swarmed, the coaster lines were all over an hour, there was a line for MSR back to the pet show an hour before show time. We split. But then noticed the turnstiles were pretty empty and it didn't seem like many cars were coming in. I guess not many people came in the evening.

Don't know if anyone was watching the HOS Webcam last night, but at around 9:30, one of the actors in Fear fair mooned the camera.

I went to HOS on the 30th and I have a question about 13. Was the fear of heights room functioning improperly? I went into 13 twice, once at 6:00 and again at about 9:45 and both times I could barley see the floor in the fear of heights room? Other posts seem to say that room had a pretty good effect. All I saw was a swirly brown ceiling.

Yea, the floor was messed up due to the weather I think. Usually it is crystal clear, but the glass was all kinds of foggy and wet last weekend.

I mean, it's mirrors, I was just assuming they were glass mirrors. Regardless, there was a haze or a fog on them last weekend.

DID YOU KNOW, In the darkside of the gardens song that was played throughout the park, in one section had her singing a bunch of mumble jumbo but if you play that backwards it says "ring around the rosy, pockets full of posey"

Someone reverse the audio or it did not happen.

Feels like I am on Digg or Reddit ( Pics or it didn't happen).... heh. But really this sound like something along the lines of Paul is Dead pure urban legend. Some of these backmasking things are true ( Wierd Al did one as a joke one time) but most of them are people listen too hard for nothing.
