RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

^ Thanks for the confirmation!

I've been told that the zombie theme will carry on through to the revamped Pompeii and that we can also expect a name change. I should have more soon.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

We've seen really dark takes on the tales of the Brothers Grimm... The HOS site resembles the recent Tim Burton incarnation of Wonderland... has the park ever used Alice as a theme?

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

I LOVED The Never After (which included Deadtime Stories, The Beaten Path, and another name that I can't quite remember), to me that was one of the best mazes that the park's had! They probably definitely won't bring it back, as that was in Festhaus Park. But I love the whole thing about the fairytales gone crazy, so maybe they could use that idea in another area.

No, I don't ever remember them using Alice as a theme, but that would be really neat and weird. :)

Remember, don't count out Festhaus Park as a whole. I'm hearing very mixed things from a bunch of different people.

The third one in The Never After was Tormented Tales, I believe. The Brothers Grimm tales worked soooo well there. Also Alice would make the freakiest, most distorted, and best maze EVER. They'd have to talk it out with Disney first, though :(

Can't they use The Black Forest picnic area with the Bitten house to make a mega, indoor/outdoor flagship maze? That'd be epic! An intricate, garden/zombie themed, story driven maze there could definitely be a symbol for HOS 2011. I personally want a Jack the Ripper maze in the backstage area of The Globe, unlikely though.

The characters themselves are now public domain along with the 42 original Tenniel illustrations so, as long as they don't copy the "Disney" look, who knows - someday it could happen!

it might not be too hard to turn the festhaus picnic area into a queue and exit for a haunted house in one of the fhp buildings. All they need to do is clear a little space behind the picnic area.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

"13: Your Number's Up" Description:
For 13 long years, the dark tower was locked away from the world—existing only in the nightmares of those who had dared to experience Howl-O-Scream’s first and most terrifying maze. But now, on the eve of our 13th anniversary, the seal has been broken. The tower is open once more and on the 13th floor, your darkest phobias and fears lurk in the shadows. Are you brave enough to face them or is your number up?

Yep, it's a tribute to their first Howl-O-Scream house. I'm calling it: This year's HOS is going to rock.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

WOO HOO!

On the park map, it doesn't appear to be located in EITA, but towards the entrance of Ireland. Hmm...

EDIT:
Oh! Now I get it. They're showing the front entrance of EITA on the map. Nevermind...

Did anyone on here go through their first house? If so, was it located here? What was it like? Perhaps, then, this is our "old favorite."

This bit O'News made my day...

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

I went through it but honestly all I remember about it was the line the day I went stretched to england almost D: id imagine it would be better now, good ole bg bringing me good news on my first day back to work!

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

Here's a thought about how they could do Drachen Houses for the Haunted Houses this year with all the construction. During Illuminights, they shut down the train for fireworks. In theory, they could close down the train, make the tracks walk-able with boards or whatever, and use the track as a path from the Black Forest picnic area. Probably not going to happen, but it's a way they could get around the construction.

Are you suggesting a maze on the tracks, or just used for a path to something? Either way, it's a great idea!

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

At the social media event for HOS last year, the guy who runs HOS (I CANNOT think of his name for the life of me right now) had a lot of people asking him about the haunted train ride and if it'll be back for this year, and he answered several times that it would absolutely not be back for this year.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

A maze on the tracks would be too hard, just a replacement pathway to get to/from the houses in the Drachen area.
