RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

A Disney vs. BGW debate is just apples and oranges....so just leave it be.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

ok lets get back on topic, what would you like to stay or go this year, I want catacombs to stay and hunted to go, I just like the werewolves better when they were a scare zone

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

I'll make a list soon, but, for sure, this is at the top.

-Change the names. This isn't a mall production, rather I know malls with better names for their haunted houses.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

Does the park have something against the past tense??? i.e. Cursed, Bitten, Hunted

Busch will never be able to take away from disneys popularity. But really the only reason that Disney World is so popular is because it's under the Disney name. BGW is easily better than any Disneyland or Magic Kingdom, it's just the Disney name and the nostalgia that make the parks so popular.

The only way that Busch could even come close to Disneys popularity is to make BGW a full resort with hotels, entertainment, dining, shopping and more parks, but that is very unlikely:(

I like to consider my self extremely lucky for having something such as BGW right in my backyard!

That was my point and left it at that. Two polar oppisites.

Hunted needs to go. It is a tires scene at this point in time. There is plenty more that can be done around nature and mythical creatures outside of werewolves. I love the fact that BGW stays away from serial killers. Ripper would be awesome though!

Catacombs needs some minor revamping inside. The skull wall, the buttress, and sewer need a bit of work. Outside of that, the house needs to be left alone.

Festa needs its clowns back. That is all.

This. Clowns are freaky to ANYONE; some have greater fears than others with them

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

Welcome Summer Lover (hehehe love your name, its rhymy:D)
What if they had a haunted house down by the Rhine River Cruz, it has space, and i think they can do good themeing by the water, any thoughts

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

^Maybe something that has to do with the Loch Ness Monster, they could have LNM hunters and people the LNM has attacked, and maybe even put some type of LNM anamatronic in the water. Also I think it would be cool if they could put fog over the Rhine River. They could also do a haunted boat ride type thing.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

Yeah i like the idea of haunted rhine river cruise. Also yes Hunted was lacking but it could really be revamped it has a cool story just not really scarry.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

Here it goes:

Countries:
England:
Last year's theming was perfect. Don't change it a bit.

Scotland:
Can we get the scaractors from 2009 back? They where perfect. Just put some fog through there, dim the lights a bit, and be done with it.

Ireland:
Honestly, I'd rather not have scaractors in Ireland. They just don't belong. Keep Monster Stomp and do whatever you want with Jack is Back and please bring back Caverns of Darkness. Right now the space is, how should I put this, wasted.

Wildlife Preserve:
The spiders are fine. They don't scare me, but they sure do get some people. One recommendation I'd have though is to have something on ground-level to get people when they're looking up.

France:
Same as 2010 please.

New France:
See France.

Germany:
Sliders are great and I love them just as much as the next guy, the problem last year however was that the sliders didn't care about their job. As I said before, I watched one bribe a kid who looked to be 8 years old to get him some candy from the candy shop. Another time I walked by, three of them were all sitting on a bench talking. When I told them that their technique wasn't working, one of them said "I know" and they went back to talking. Please hire people who care and if they don't care, fire them and call me up. I'd do the job for minimum wage in a heartbeat.

Italy:
In all seriousness, this is another area where the scaractors don't belong. Please don't get the idea that the whole park needs to have scaractors because it doesn't. I'd rather have them all in three countries then spread throughout all of them.

Festa:
BRING BACK THE CLOWNS! FESTA ITALIA = CLOWNS

Houses:
Revenge/Curse of Pompeii:
Lets see the revamps that where teased about last year actually happen this year. Maybe Busch can fix this one...

Caverns of Darkness (2009):
Bring it back, it was a great house and as of now, in my opinion at least, the space is just being wasted.

Catacombs:
Update the parts that Scoutn mentioned and please keep the path the same. When you switch the route, it kinda destroys the isolated feeling you get in the house, and it seems very gimmicky.

Festhaus Park:
This may shock many of you, but I say don't use it for HoS. See Everything Else

Cursed:
Keep it and don't bother changing it. It was fine last year. How does it work with the clown theme? It doesn't. In my mind however, it's far enough away from the rest of Festa to justify a different theme.

Clown Themed House:
If you're going to have an area themed to clowns, you better have a house themed to them as well. See Everything Else

Rhine River House:
Great idea. See Everything Else

Everything Else
Thoughts on a Rhine River House:
I absolutely love this idea: A house in the Rhine River Cruise station/waiting area. There's plenty of room, it's off the beaten path, it's not all that well lit, its already kind of creepy at night, they already have a roof over it, and they already have queue for it (the stairway, the area under LNM, and the bridge). A LNM theme seems a little far-fetched to me. Can you really do all that much with that theme? I'd rather see a swamp theme put to it with some of the camouflage outfits formerly used in the scarezones combined with a lot of the Hunted theming with a swamp-ish twist. I imagine that come HoS 2011 the RRC will be closed due to coaster construction anyway, so having to close an attraction (however minor it may be) for HoS shouldn't be a problem.

Thoughts on a Clown House:
I can tell you right now that there is massive support for this idea. The first time I ever went to Howl-O-Scream (2004) the house I remember the most is Distorted Dimension. The scarezone I remember the most? You guessed it, Festa Dementia. If there's one thing that scares me, it's clowns holding chainsaws. I've waited a long time to have the chainsaws back, and now I want the clowns back too. The theme of Festa is perfect for a Fairground gone wrong theme. If I had my way, I'd rebuild Distorted Dimension (3D effects and all), modernize it, and bring back the Chicken-Riding, Chainsaw-Wielding Clown. He was the best thing I've seen at Howl-O-Scream. Ever.

Why no Festhaus Park Houses?
It may sound crazy to ask the park to remove three of the most popular Howl-O-Scream attractions of all time and maybe it is, but lets pretend for a minute that I'm not completely insane. Sound good? Ok, we know that in 2012 we're getting a new coaster. We know that the coaster will be using a large amount of the combined Festhaus Park and Big Bad Wolf land. Where is the construction entrance for this area? If I'm not mistaking, it's the path/road currently used as a queue for the Festhaus Park Howl-O-Scream attractions. Because of this, and the construction work that will be going on in the area, Festhaus Park may not even be a possibility and even if it is, who says we need it? I think that we can all agree that waiting in the huge line that those houses produce is one of the worst things about Howl-O-Scream, especially when the line continues all the way though Bitten (stacking in that house is ridiculous), Hunted isn't all that great, and the Harvest Hallow's actors don't have any good hiding places. Basically, in my mind at least, it's a waste. If they add two new houses and re-open Caverns of Darkness, there shouldn't be a need for Festhaus Park anymore. Now you can tell me if I'm crazy.

Thoughts on The Scare is Everywhere:
It's not everywhere, and I don't want it to be. Go back to real scarzones. Put more work into the houses, that's where people actually get scared.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

^That was brilliant, Busch Gardens should hire you

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

Beautiful Swift, absolutly beautiful; I agree with everything. The clowns seriously need to come back they were the best scarezone of howloscream. And the swamp theme would be amazing, swampy creatures coming to bring you to the abyss of the swamp, sounds friggin awesome. The scare is everywhere thing has serious flaws. The chainsaw guys were great, france's faceless people were also good, the spiders eh could use something, the witches ugh this really bothered me the shackers that they carry aren't scary there just plain annoying, and the pathway of ancients there were only like what two scare actors for that. Cavern of Darkness was a great haunted house, plus everytime I went there was no line so I would get off and back in line over and over.

The Train
On one hand it's a transport ride, on the other hand, it can be used as a great attraction. I've always been one to argue that it's a transport ride year round and should be used as such at all times. Now, I've done a complete 180 and realized a huge flaw in this idea: This year, the train was almost completely empty after 6 pm. Why? Because after 6, people want to be scared. Using the train as another attraction would take some of the people off of the paths making them a little more hospitable. This year attendance was through the roof. If this starts happening every year, somethings going to have to change. Right now, just about anything they can do to make the paths a little less crowded is a good thing so Jack's Nightmare Express is now SWIFTMAN APPROVED!

As much as I love this idea. What I gathered last year is that this will be no more unless a huge jump in budget. The land around the train to fill is so vast that is does nothing but drain the budget like a plug out of a bathtub.
