HOS Fright Night was AMAZING.
It started off with us eating these really awesome candies, chocolates, and candy apples decorated like monsters, they had soda's, oh and these cool witch finger pretzels. Chicken nuggets, meat balls, monster cheese, it was all so great and tasty!
While we ate, there were monsters lurking around us, it was so cool!
Then Phil Raybourne (I hope I spelled that correctly) came out and did Q and A's with everyone.
At the end, My guest and I had a choice of getting Quick Que passes, or a Sceam Cam video done, we chose Quick Que.
We zoomed to the front of the 4 hour lines, it was too great.
Thanks for a fun and scary night Busch Gardens! :D
Oh, and I recognized quite a bit of the facebook fans, and I'm pretty sure I saw you, Youhow2. You said that you were wearing all black and sporting an afro, right?

I was there... Phil actually knew who I was by my comments... That creeped me out more than howl o scream actually did...

Once again more proof that they do read what we say. Thanks for posting that Youhow. Too bad I didn't get to do another one of my interviews. :dodgy: We won't go there though...

I just saw on facebook that the park was closed for a while due to capacity. Wow, that's great for the park, anyone know what capacity is?

When we came in at 430 they said the park was right around 35k.

2:00 PM tomorrow should be fine. It's Saturdays that you have to worry about.

how about QuickQueue? I got them two years ago and it was a life saver...bought them last year and it was a waste of $30. I only like to do the mazes and Halloween shows once it's dark (I guess around 7). I know they only sell a limited number of QQ passes per day...I'm hoping I don't need them, but am planning on buying. Guess we'll see tomorrow.

My advice would be to wait and see until after 6 and then make that call. If the lines are long, it's totally worth it. We had them yesterday on "park capacity day" and it was the best money I've ever spent at the park.

Hey guys! I haven't been on in a long time, but I've been reading through everything.
I wasn't at HOS Fright Night, but it sure sounds like it was fun.

Thanks for posting that Youhow.

Sorry, but I have to say this. I would have to LOL at the comment above.
DreamOutLoud posted that long review of the whole event, and then Youhow comes along and just says that Phil recognized him from his comments, and you only say thanks to Youhow.

If I said how much I appreciate every good post I read here, the forums would be full of posts saying: "Good Point". Also, I personally find it very encouraging that someone at the park (especially in his position) is reading what we have to say about the park- it gives me a reason to keep doing what I do here. You need to realize how much time, effort, and money (from Chris' pocket) goes into making this site possible- without it, none of us would be here right now.

Sorry for the slight forum derail. Back on topic now.

Lol! No, no, no, thanks for saying that, but it's fine.
Lots of people post reviews here, I don't expect any special treatment. :)
But thank you anyways.

I'm going again tonight, it will be fun!
I have to say that last night was probably the scariest that I've seen it for this season.

Hey,
So I was there ALL day yesterday. Well not literally all day but I got there around 1:30ish and there was the traffic sign thing in the line to get in saying that it MAY reach capacity. Luckily for us, due to the fact that people were already in the overflow parking, my friend has a platinum pass so we got prefered parking for free. As we walked in, it didn't really seem all that crowded. The entire night (even when it was closed due to capcity) it seemed like any regular operating day + scares. I beleive that the majority of the people were in line for B/H/HH.

Also luckily for us, my friend knows one of the ladies at Pet Shenanigans who got connections with the PS stage manager who also works B/H/HH so we got to go right by the2 hour line right into the quick queue line and literally got right in. Throughout the day we kept passing Catacombs and at one point there was absolutely NO line for Catacombs at like 3ish so we got that out of the way and at 7 we went to a barren line for Cursed.

We got so lucky last night with everyone waiting for the shows/houses and the fact we got free Quick Queue for B/H/HH.

Overall it was a pretty scary night last night. 3 different chainsaw dudes got one of the girl that was in our group and it was so well done.

I just have a couple questions:

Did you find the strobe lights overdone in Cursed?
Did you have to stop and wait in Catacombs for people to decide which way to go?
Did you find it EXTREMELY humid in Bitten and Hunted?
Did you find what they did to the Pompeii bridge when it screams REALLY COOL?!?!

Thanks :D

Yes, I think the strobes are overdone.
Nope, no stopping in Catacombs.
Yes, it was very hot and humid in both Bitten and Hunted.
No, but it scares some people. [You know who you are. ;)]

I thought that it was reallycool how the bridge was vibrating and strobe lights were going of under the bridge into the trees...reall cool effect!!!!

Yes, to all.

Definitely.
No.
Yes for Bitten, no for Hunted.
I have always liked that, and I liked that they set the troll there this year.

Just got back from HOS this season, and I think it's the best it has ever been. I was not a fan of the "Scare is Everywhere" concept, until I went...and I think they did it well. They didn't overdo it, which I thought they would. More theming this year, more scare actors...an all-around better experience than previous years.

Also, what is the gripe with Harvest Hollow? No, it's not a claustrophobic maze, but I thought the scare actors there were some of the best, and the makeup was great. Plus, corn and hay and stuff are eerie.

Just went two days ago. I have been going to BGW every year for about 28 years and the park was the busiest I have seen in the last 17. ALL parking lots were packed.

This trip was, of course, to experience Howl-o-scream. I was disappointed with the lack of "scare zones" and the quality of the make-up used in those "zones". "The scare is everywhere" was a bust, I think. "Cursed" was a huge let down over last year's version which had considerably more witch characters inside the maze. "Catacombs" was good as was "Hunted", while "Bitten" was extremely good. "Harvest Hollow" was EXCELLENT. The characters were very interactive and engaged the vistors often due to their ability to move around much more freely. They were quite successful in scaring my wife and daughter repeatedly and engaged me in banter that was quite fun. All in all, I give this years version of the haunts an A- compared to last year's. Still fun and entertaining.

Also, spend the extra $25 and get "quick que". It's well worth the extra lest you not be able to see all of the attractions.

Cheers,
Actr50

Honestly, the strobes are the only thing i like about Cursed, near blinding so the scare is more intense, the thing i dont like is there is no music in there...
no, but i did go both ways, and there is like five extra people in the longer way!!
yes in Bitten and not so much in Hunted, do wish the Forest part from Cursed last year was wet in Hunted
yea, LOVE THE STROBES!!

There is a skeleton in catacombs that actually dictates which direction you go. I have been through that one a million times.

It must just be me but everytime I go through Bitten/Hunted/HH there is no one in there. I feel like I am just walking to an empty set.

Catacombs- was the scariest haunted house ever, omg they were all ganging up on me and everything, but there was this one bone guy in the line and he was nice and let me take a pic of him, but the only thing i didn't like was that it was so dark i couldn't see anything
Bitten-was my favorite maze, the theming well done, and scare actors were awesome
Hunted-was good the guy on the bunjee cord got me good, and the decorations made me feed like i was in a jungle
Harvest Hallow-has so much potential, i was not scared, i didnt see one person jump out from one of those shaft things, but the masks they had on were really freaky looking
Cursed-was so much better this year, it was superb haha
Pompeii- was the same but it was still scary, i absolutely do not like the mummy things that hang from the ceiling, one them hit me right in the face and it hurt
