OMG YES i was so hot in that house i justed wanted to run out of there but i couldn't because of the lines in that house

BGW is having some problems with the HOS webcam, (Check the @JordanFord post on Twitter) The webcam will not be on tonight either. They said the vamps that inhabit Bitten don't quit understand technology.

It's on, I was just watching it.

Just a few quick points before I'm off to bed- I'll give a more detailed synopsis tomorrow:

Went to HOS today (9-26), a Sunday. Park was fairly empty (No one parked in Germany, half of Ireland and France) so I was able to go through all of the houses with ease.

-Pompeii was incredibly hot inside. Needs some AC.
-Not sure why Festa is always so neglected. Other the the three witch "statues" at the front and the bottles I saw nothing- no theming, scare actors, etc.
(Not HOS related, but Art Attack is AMAZING. Saw it for the first time today)
-A great thing Busch hasn't tapped into as much as they could is putting the stereos with the blood curdling screams in more locations (San marco for instance). It fills up dead space with a scare
-Hunted was my second fav. to Catacombs- loved the tilting boards on the floor.
-For such a small hamlet, Aquitaine is probably the best overall IMHO. The combo of the screams from Catacombs, the heavy theming, the 3-4 scare actors roaming, and live animals comes together beautifully. Granted, Aquitaine is also one of the smaller areas of the park so it has less space to fill.
-Catacombs is the best house BGW has ever put out during HOS. Period. Went through it twice- once by myself because there was no line, once with a few other people in front of me. Long story short- one of the scare actors recognized me from earlier in the day (he had asked my dad my name the first run through) and called me out. Makes it more personal when they call you by your name.

I'm not going to really remark on Harvest Hollow, the sliders, or other scare actors, mainly because I either didn't spend much time near them (most of my time spent at the park was also pre-sunset and this obviously makes everything a bit less scary).

This is so sad :(

its probably just me, but i love the new jack, not the show, just Jack himself, personally he always looked stupid to me, like they tried to make him scary but failed horribly, now they admit to themselves, that he isnt going to be scary and you get this cool looking not so scary jack... again this is just imo...

We plan on visiting the park on October 15, 16, and 17 with my two boys, ages 8 and 6. Are there any areas of the park that we should avoid at night with children of this age? Which of the haunted houses, if any, would you recommend for children of this age?

You are going to get mixed reviews on that one. There are areas of the park that certain actors stay in and there are people that wonder the entire park. I just know the location of where the permanent people are but I will leave it to others to say where they feel is best. It will depend a lot on if your kids are scared or frightened easily

Is there anyone here who went on friday night and then maybe again on sunday?
Was just wondering if there was a big improvement or not

Just a quick question for all of you HOS Aficionados. This will be our first year attending, my youngest daughter's birthday is actually on the 31st. We are going to drive up from NC on Friday morning and spend the day at the park till it closes and then maybe do something in the morning and return home on Saturday. In your opinion, am I crazy for going the last weekend and do you think that Friday night will be unbelievably busy? Just wondered what some of you think, we are going regardless, but I want to know what to expect. I realize that the park might not be that busy during the day, with school being in session, but the evening is what I worry about.

Last weekend is usually a traffic jam after 3 or 4pm to get off the interstate and to parking. It has always been that way when I have gone then. I am sure Swift, Chris, or Nora would be able to give a better opinion

Thanks Scout for your input. We will be arriving at the park around opening time, so that traffic should not be an issue for us (fingers crossed) cause if there is one thing that ticks me off, it's traffic and stupid people. It has been my experience that these two things tend to travel together. I do look forward to chris, swift and/or Nora letting me know what they think as well. But it will be what it will be I suppose.

If thats Jack up behind the pumpkins DJing or whatever, I hate the new Jack. Also the show looks sucky.

Seeing that it is a Friday, I doubt that it will be too bad. I went last year on the 31st which fell on a Saturday and the place was almost empty (though that may of been because of the bad weather). I'm sure Shafor would know though...

The New Jack is Back would be better if:

1 - They kept the old Jack.
The old look of Jack was kind of sentimental, and now they ruined it.
2 - They put Jack back up above the Pub.
It made him the center of attention, now hes just behind everything and in the background. The show is called "Jack is Back" not "The dancers are back."
3 - They brought back the Actors dancing in the middle of Ireland.
With all honesty, the dancing and dancers' skills are the stage are horrible. If they were dancing in the street it would be more guest involved, and less able to spot mistakes.

Yep... That's jack. Except he's sposed to pop out the middle of that big pumpkin... and he stays there for the show just dancing around for the most part. It was funny on the first show of the season, he tried to pop out the middle and the lid came back down on him. He had his arm sticking out flailing around trying to push the lid back up...

Also, "kidsiderate" doesnt mean it should be able to alienate a specific audience. A family friendly show will cater to all ages and still be acceptable for children. The song selection alienates most people over 35, Males, and anyone who doesnt like pop... Not really good for a themepark audience. Stick with the classics, and though they may be heard a gajillion times, everyone should know them...

okay, so i just got back from HOS with a friend of mine. Here's my reviews of the mazes/scarezones/shows.

*The Webs* I put this first so i can get it over with. Talk about an EPIC FAIL. I have never seen a scare zone THAT BAD. MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT. This wasn't even a scare zone. No actors at all as far as we saw and we had to pass through a couple of times to get to our destination. Just a bunch of stupid spiders flying above your head and giant spiderwebs. Absolute waste of park space. It would've been better just to make it pitch black and have people jump out at you from the darkness. That would've been scarier. Not even worth the money on the decorations. Worst excuse for a scare zone.

No disrespect, but I must disagree with you about the webs. I noticed a lot guests walking from France toward the webs and then stopping, not wanting to continue. Many thought they could just go around by walking up behind the aviary. I think it's a subtle scare that plays on people's fears of spiders, webs and confinment, especially when it was darker with the addition of fog.
