Or, Busch just told the guy to act as scared as possible... It really wasn't THAT scary... I didn't make a sound going though the whole thing... Am I just... Different... :p

You could be right. But I agree with you..these houses don't 'scare' me. I get startled occasionally but mainly I'm there to check out the set, the props, and atmosphere. I take my time if no one is pushing us from behind.

On the subject of best scare-zones, Strangers Beware was terrible. Except on the last weekend. On the last weekend, Strangers Beware was getting better scares than any other scare-zone in the park. There where more people jumping, screaming, dropping things, throwing things, leaping, ect. It was that good. There where full-grown men who where screaming like little girls and jumping behind their wives. The ground was covered in food and drink. I'm not kidding when I say this, I saw more people getting scared in Strangers Beware then I saw in Bitten. Whatever they did, they need to do it again. (The one guy even got me.)

Dang it. Thank you. I seen so many people take pics of them and can't find any of them any where. The ones my step mom took didn't come out

2009 was one of my favorite Howl-O-Scream seasons. Although they recycled a lot, we had all new houses. That was unprecedented then, and still hasn’t been duplicated. It also brought several of my favorite mazes of all time (Bitten, Catacombs, and Cursed.)

Yes, I said Cursed. While not scary by any means, I loved the fantasy world that they created within that maze. It was more pretty than scary, and I believe every Halloween event should have one maze like that.

Bitten felt like an old German horror film, and Catacombs in 2009 felt very close to what it represented.

Oh, and 2009 was Monster Stomp Revamped’s best season. So, yeah, 2009 was great. The only other year that comes close to being that revolutionary in my opinion is 2011 (awesome scare zones, Fear Fair, Deadline and Fiends in the Festhaus).

Cursed had fire effects. I will always treasure that.
I totally forgot about that. I also loved the mist when it worked at the end in the cave scene.

Reflecting on 2009 I think it's interesting how the park attempted to tie in most of the scare zones and houses together to create a rather cohesive theme. For example, Spellbound in Italy tied to the storyline of Cursed or Werewolves in Germany fitting in with the theme of Hunted. The embrace of the European theme that year along with a strong entertainment selection, minus Frankenrock, really made 2009 a stand out year that I don't think was topped until 2011 when the event peaked.

In 2009 was there a camp scene in between Bitten and Hunted? I remember dipping into the woods for a small section with a tent and hunters, but I don't remember this in the following year 2010. Always loved the build-up in 2009 with Strangers Beware outside of the three part attraction.

I loved that area.

I remember going through with almost no one else there. It was very creepy and the actors did an amazing job of stalking us.
