I dunno it is kinda fun to find new and different ways to do what you want without triggering the naughty words. It is like mental pushups!

You guys aren't gonna belive this but supposedly it's rumored Steve the Haunt guy has been talking about adding 30 foot giant spiders to the Eiffel Tower! I have a huge fear of Spiders so I guess the Dominator Midway will be my friend this year. I've also heard rumors of Miners coming back just with a few tweaks. Keep in mind they are rumors so I'm 99 percent sure the first thing isn't coming, As for the second probably. I've never really done any of the haunted houses other than Blueridge Blood Bath so should be fun!

Me too my friend. Me too. Except I just kill them at site and go on with my day. But strangely can't see this happening.

It's to my understanding that Miner's Revenge will be returning under a different name.

I'm going to assume it will have updates and maybe a slight change in the story to prevent any issues like last year.

I assume they would place them under the tower. I say this because they usually hang cliwns and ghost up there. Though thirty feet. That's humongous! (Also terrifying...) I really am hoping that one isn't true. But then again the Dominator Midway has a great view of Dominator and the bus parking lot!

Am I the only one that disliked the spiders theme on International Street last year? As we discussed in the Howl-O-Scream thread, spiders really aren't all that scary as decorations. They are a very bland theme on their own. However, what really bothered me was how International Street has so much detail and architecture to work with that they could fantastically decorate the area.

Don't get me wrong, I didn't hate the spiders, but I feel like they could have done a much more grand entrance to the area. Last year was very minimalist. With all that old European architecture, I would love to see something like a cemetery theme on International Street. Putting up some old arched gates around the fountains, headstones throughout the planters and grass along the fountains, signs on the buildings, ghosts flying overhead, etc. would be fantastic. At night they could have the fountains on low and show gloomy white and blue lights on the fountains for a hazy cemetery effect.

Or they could fill the whole area with Jack-O-Lanterns, scarecrows, etc. to go with the Cornstalkers theme. Either one works with me.

Really, what they could do is switch Old Virginia's theme (cemetery) with International Street's theme (spiders). Old Virginia has a more rustic, woodsier theme (it's the KD equivalent of New France) which would make the spiders much more fitting. Plenty of trees, props, and old buildings to work with. Meanwhile International Street could use the enormous headstone hiding places and props to go along with a cemetery theme.

Calling last year's decorations a "theme" is even kind of stretching it. It basically consisted of the flower beds being spiderwebbed over with rubber spiders on top. That's it. The music didn't even fit. I know it's probably kind of hard to theme the area, especially with that big fountain in the middle, but if they're doing the spiders again I hope they do a little more. 30-foot spiders could do just that.

Keep in mind I'm one of those people who get scared somewhat easily. Therefore a lot of my HOS/Haunt experience comes from simply taking in the atmosphere. And with the spiders last year, that wasn't much of that to take in. Just my two cents.

I don't think I even noticed the spiders, to be honest.  So, clearly they didn't contribute to my experience at all.

If I did see them, they obviously left no lasting impression.

I would hate to see the spiders move to Old Virginia because then it would actually be scary! Before Cornstalkers they used to have a scarecrow scarezone that was similar to necropolis but worked perfectly with Old Virginia. The perfect area for the spiders would be where the lair is located now. They could have string hanging munching and hissing noises. And also giant spiders hanging from the celing while on the sides and maybe on crates and other objects in the pathway. I say this because it would work great and I could easily avoid it! Do you guys think we're going to see any new houses?

I love this idea, personally. Jack-O-Lanterns and scarecrows care just very creepy to me for some reason. They give off a very eerie feeling and scream Halloween. It would probably work better in Old Virginia than International Street, but I would love to see KD do this somewhere. Just place and hang tons of Jack-O-Lanterns everywhere, have scarecrow actors roaming around, do those scarecrows with the pumpkin heads. I would love that.

On the spiders thing... Honestly, real spiders freak me out. If I find a spider in my shoe, I pretty much decide the whole house needs to be burned down (who knows where the babies are, right?) But for whatever reason, spiders as Halloween props just don't do it for me. Like Nicole, I didn't even notice them last year, so I guess it wasn't done very well or not in a very exciting way. 30 foot spiders would be more of a, "Oh that's pretty cool" idea rather than a scary/creepy idea.

HAUNT LEAK: A new catered Haunt dinner is slated to take place on the second level of the Starbucks building this year. From what I hear the park's new executive chef has played a big hand in making this happen.

Where did you find the leak?

From an actual source within the park. This is my first Zachary-style leak. :p

I think they only did 1 special meal like this. They didn't offer any kind of 'nightly' experience.

Correct. Sounds like this will be a cross between Bistro 75 and what the did last year, but as a regular restaurant experience.
