Nope, Y101 and Hot 100.9 were never CC stations...

The theme park chain split from Taft in 1981 or 1982. The park chain executives got financing and bought the parks from the company. If Taft was bought by CC, it was after the parks split away.

despite how bad it looks, everyone i’ve spoken with is adamant, this is apparently intentional

I mean, is it possible it was being deconstructed then winds from Ian knocked some other pieces loose?

I guess now would as good a time as any for them to clean and/or replace the maintenance track roofing - seems like years of caked on fungus growing there

I think there's a non-zero chance that this could be a titan track project. KD invested a lot in a substantial Grizzly retracking very recently. I think there's wide agreement amongst guests that said retracking failed to fix Grizzly. Given Cedar Fair's recent flirtations with utilizing titan track on particularly rough areas of existing wooden coasters like the quite-Grizzly-esque Wolverine Wildcat at Michigan's Adventure, I think there's a real chance that Grizzly East could be next. Certainly something to keep an eye out for.

Very interesting! Wonder if they’ll do the whole ride or just the sections we see getting worked on now.

Also certainly just particularly high-stress chunks of the ride as with Wolverine Wildcat. Parts of Grizzly are just fine. Other parts very much are not.

It is also worth noting that on Wolverine Wildcat, they did titan track the first drop. Duplicating that work for Grizzly could potentially justify the work we're currently seeing at the top of the lift....

Why would they need to retrack the drop at all? I don't recall it being rough. And wouldn't making it titan track just make the train go faster, potentially causing more issues? Maybe I don't understand physics, though. Very possible.

I don’t think Grizzly needs a huge update to its entrance now that it has Grizzly Gulch General Store — which I think of as almost a highly themed entrance. They did add this nice little sign out front last summer, which definitely seems to have helped, given that I used to see people struggling to find Grizzly’s entrance all the time even once the General Store was added.

With the attention the entrance has gotten in recent years, if they really do add Titan Track to make Grizzly smoother while maintaining its signature out of control feel, that could given an entirely new lease on life for the coaster.
