I personally love Grizzly, where it’s a must-ride every time I find myself at the park.

Is Grizzly rough? Absolutely! But that’s part of it’s charm -- where I’ve found to be a manageable roughness (unlike some woodies which are just insanely rough) by simply learning how to ride it in a certain way.

Sitting in the front row of any car (even the back car, which is my personal fav), where I can brace strongly with my legs and thus reduce my points of contact with the seat to primarily just my back. In this way I almost float just slightly above the seat surface, where all the bumps are easily absorbed.

Long ago, before I found a technique that worked for me, I‘ll admit I was in the same camp to completely retract it. But ever since, I absolutely adore Grizzly and hope KD makes no drastic changes to it.

Otherwise I love how appropriately named the coaster is -- that is, if you were to ever ride an actual grizzly bear in the wild, would you expect anything less than the bucking, wild experience that you receive from this particular grizzly? 😉
Maybe the park could put up posters and videos with these techniques to make it manageable to ride.

Or maybe they could just retrack it in a way that the average park goer can simply sit and enjoy the ride without feeling like they got in a car wreck.

I was bummed to see this at the park today (Saturday); where I noticed that Grizzly was closed as well back on Monday for Labor Day, but did not see this sign till today:

So not sure whether they're closing it just so they can better focus on GrimmWoods, or whether there's some other structural work needed.

One of the FB groups mentioned an incident a week or so back that involved an ambulance being called. Not sure of the accuracy of that report or the severity of the incident, but it certainly wouldn’t surprise me with Grizzly if something bad happened.

Grizzly is closed for the season and is getting additional retracking as well as some control board programming changes, according to kdfanatics on instagram.

I have not heard anything about an incident, so that seems like bull, but I don’t really know. But If there had been a safety incident I’m sure we would have heard of it.

The ambulance could have been for someone having a heart attack or passing out. Just noting that one happened after the other.

Grizzly isn't rough. Its a train issue.

Park was running 2 trains a couple weekends ago, which meant no lines and I could marathon the ride a bit. I noticed the orange train was running pretty ragged, but I hopped into yellow and the ride was running a lot better. I was able to keep my hands up with no issues throughout the ride.

The ride had a good amount of work done in the off season last year and it definitely made the ride a lot smoother than it was in years past. I'm glad to see the ride (hopefully) getting more work done, but if they can use that extra time to refurbish orange, the ride will be running better than it has in who knows how long.

There was no accident resulting in its closure. She’s getting some needed track work for some rough spots. I 100% disagree with the new trains for Grizzly. They will rebuild both trains this off season as they always do.

Grizzly would be downright awful with any restraint other than a ratcheting lap bar.

It's my understanding that, post Gwazi, GCI won't sell parks either version of their Flyer trains without also getting the park to do a full reprofile job. In other words, unless you want Grizzly altered significantly ruined, we probably shouldn't hope for new trains—just full rebuilds and upgrades from PTC. (Hollow seat divider upgrade, please!)

I’ll echo @Zachary ’s call for the Hollow seat divider. I’m not a big person width wise, but Grizzly’s trains are just way too narrow for me and it’s the only coaster I have that issue on. It’s not that the coaster itself is rough, it’s when you have no leeway to get jolted around. My legs always get bruised and my ribs and back hurt because my body has to give over the rough spots rather than the seat.

Actually it was open labor Day Monday as I rode it. Was running yellow train only. Clearly a good call as must have been one of the last rides of the year, walked on front row which was pretty good. I've actually not dared to ride towards the front of the train for months.

I can believe it's a train issue because Grizzly has been horrible most of this year until within the last 2 months and I've been sticking with the yellow train since having a better experience. The problem wasn't bumps but a continuous bounce with any regular bumps layed over top of that, which could have been bad wheels. Of course running it like that since late 2018 could take a toll.

Not a fan of the hollow seat divider as it puts all the pressure at one spot, a wash at best. I can't see how going to a train that was actually designed with its current restraint type in mind would necessarily ruin it. Even a brand new PTC is a buzz bar train retrofitted with that awful ratcheting thing. And as much as I might have proclaimed it a perfect roughness at some point in the past, I'm willing to start over with new!

Does this sort of thing usually happen during re-tracking?
Sometimes depending on how bad it is. A large section of the turnaround that is across from the station was removed and redone a few years ago.

Wait is this real??
Haven't been in daylight myself to see it but will be tomorrow but I am taking it at face value given that they have done phased retracking in the recent past.

Now seeing multiple post of it from different angles and people and even video if it's a hoax its a very extremely organized one but I would say with a high degree if probability it's real. It's also not as dramatic as this angle makes it appear as there is only a small section gone.
