Hey, unrelated question. I noticed as I flew by Griffon on the Sky Rode that there are still coaster cars in the station. Will they leave them there all winter? They looked rather exposed.

Look what is laying around by Griffon...

Interchangeable parts...let's put the wide-angle-splashers on for next season!! :D

Hopefully, they won't take this opportunity for new logo shenanigans and remove the very nice logo and graphics currently in place. :(

They are probably sitting there so that they have a little more room in the shop to work on the train that is inside. If you noticed in Ck's picture , there are a lot of pieces and that's just the body parts. They haven't even begun taking apart the real stuff.

Since the train is in the station it is fine. It's under the same conditions as the train in the exposed train storage area. As long as it's kept out of the rain/snow/ ice it's not in any real position of being harmed.

Hopes that helps.

By the way, is the second drop on Griffon after he brake-run 90 degrees?

Nope. Not sure what the angle is but if you ride by on the train you can clearly see that it is not 90°.

I remember going through the Griffon site that they set up day in and day out, watching the videos again, and again. Even though I wouldn't be able to ride it for 3 years after it opened.

Second drop is 89.5 degrees.

Absolutely and utterly false.

Look at this pic and look at the second drop relative to the first drop and vertical supports. It's not even close to being 89.5°.

The beginning section of the 2nd drop has to have a bigger lead in to the drop because you're going faster than you're on the first drop. That way the negative g's that are produced are not too high that they kill you. It's not pictured in the drop, but there is a very brief moment that it hits 89.5 degrees.

And I repeat... there is no point on Griffon's second drop that reaches 89.5°!

Is there are coaster with a steeper drop than 90 degrees? That does sound interesting.

EDIT: I just Googled it and I saw a coaster with a pretty steep drop, much steeper than even 85 degrees. Pretty interesting actually.
