Is it just me, or were the rails never painted originally?

Just makes me think it's going to look janky after a season of cycling with the new coat going on.

Griffon was the first B&M coaster at Busch with painted rails

Interesting - I always thought they were grey?

In all fairness, it's getting close to two decades since it opened so my memory is likely way off... And unless I'm mistaken again, I believe you said you've worked at that ride so you'll be a better source of info

Always blue. AC and Alpie had/have unpainted rails. Guessing B&M was concerned with friction or something in their younger years. They did a lot of things differently on those (pre-drop for example)

Personally I'm more ok with unpainted rails in general - no chance of ugly wheel tracks, fading, or chipped paint that may or may not add a bit of bumpiness (though I think nowadays that's not as common as the older Arrow coasters - distinctly remember seeing a stratification of paint layers on Nessie before they cleaned it up and repainted it many years ago).

First time I have been by when the crane is actually up and operating. It's far more impressive then it looked folded up.

This might be a long shot, but does anyone have an idea of when Griffon will open back up? Has it been temporarily closed so long due to staffing issues, or just because it’s still early in the season?
It's still early in the season and I believe it was open later than most of the other rides, so it will probably open later.

The transfer track was moved to where the third train sits. The paint is done.

From Sunday.
