The Resort Hotel one has, but the Future Park Plans thread was where the dark rides and full year operation came from. Which is also where the resort hotel and full year operation were HEAVILY debated.

OK, thanks for clearing things up. I thought there was an announcement or something but it sounds like it's all speculation.

Personally, I'd love to see an interactive laser-shooting dark ride like Men in Black: Alien Attack put in that open field right next to Festa Italia. They can base the theme around greek mythology, which should give them plenty of gods and creatures to work with. Depending on how much of an eye sore the building housing the ride is, they could consider having the train go through it and make it a themed tunnel (which would be cheaper and more effective then having to theme the whole side of the building, which they never did for DarKastle). The more expensive alternative would be to house it all in a mountain, most likely Mt. Olympus, and give Disney a run for their money. It would certainly make an awesome skyline from the parking lot. I'd also like to see an updated version of Corkscrew Hill return, this time in 3D and with better animation. The current thing they have just seems like a poor attempt to cash in on Soarin's popularity.

Anyways, I'd love to see the new train station back there themed to Spain instead of Germany. Even if the country were merely a bunch of gift shops, it would certainly offer a distinctive feel not found anywhere else in the park.

I agree with you and think that's the first thing that park is thinking of doing right now. After that, they will add some attractions to themed to Spain will follow, since there is some short of attractions in each country in the park.

All it would need is some gift shops, some kind of restaurant serving authentic Spanish cuisine, some flamenco dancing street performers, a reference somewhere to Don Juan and a multi-tiered Spanish fountain in the center of it all.

Think about it, England doesn't have much... Just the Globe Theater, a few gift shops, lost and found, and Squire's grill... oh and a bathroom

If Spain truly is going to be for another park entrance like the rumors indicate, then I think it will resemble England, but with a Spanish theme. You know, and it will close 30 minutes after park close, and open up early. You know for those resort guest who want to do last minute gift shopping and all that. I don't think of any big rides or anything being added to the area.

I'm not sure if this is new or not, but listen at 00:51. He said one of their biggest projects aside from Verbolten is railroad tracks. He may just be talking about maintenance, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

From what everyone is saying the park is doing some overdue maintenance that needed to be done. We do the same type of maintenance at my trolley museum in Baltimore, MD.

I personally do not like the idea of adding a Germany station. The trip from Festa to Caribou has always been iconic as a nice long trip with no interruptive stops. Not only does it seem like this would be a bit much (four train stations) for the park, but also BG has always gone against the status quo of the train simply being used as a transportation device. They also use it as a way to express the atmosphere of the park itself; calm, relaxing, and enjoyable. Adding another station might interrupt this atmosphere, bringing the park's standards of transportation down.

They have always made it clear the train is for transportation only, especially during Howl-o-Scream. They tell people each year that there is no haunted train because it is primarily for transportation only. Plus, there have been short trips from stop to stop before that are iconic.

I like the long trip between Festa and Caribou myself. But, I think it going take the fun out of the ride between these two stations.

Now, if they have an express train that skips some these stations this will still keep some of the fun in the train ride itself. This will still provide transportation around the park, even if they build a station in Germany section of the park.

The only problem with that is that as the express passes, everyone in the station asks "Why did the train pass? Now I'm gonna miss my show I want!" or something along those lines

another thing about adding another stop is it will means fewer trips per hour the train can make when they are only running one train. Right now it takes them about 20min round trip adding another stop would make it about 25min round trip... As for the express train how would the express get past the normal run train with only one set of tracks.. Now what I think would be cool is if they had a train that ran from bgw to WC this would allow for easier cross park traffic use but also allow for the use of WC parking lot during HOS if and when needed. Kinda doing like disney does with there monorail runs between there dufferant parks.

I am about 89% sure they are going to build a train stop in Germany. It really is needed with all the people traffic coming in and out of Oktoberfest. Just expect some of these rumors to be confirmed in September.

Here is the issue: They should build a train station in Oktoberfest (I think we can all agree on that), but the only place to build a station is on a hill that the only way to get the train started again after stopping on the hill is to back down the hill across the bridge and start from almost Festa... And before you say "well, we can build it at the top of the hill," it's too close to caribou to make a station worth it... trust me... I talked to some engineers last year who have been running trains longer that I've been alive and this is what they told me: the land is too bad (hilly) for a station there

We solved that issue, re-grading is the solution. They need a station and all they have to do is level the ground, which can be easily done. Check out the site of Verbolten when they first made the big hole in the ground.
