Presumably if the rumor is true and Fun Spot really is in dire financial straights, the cost to disassemble, relocate, and reconstruct AF1 in Orlando would be way out of the realm of possibility.
But yeah, AFO is absolutely nuts. Is it worth a trip to this park if you're not going to be in the area anyway? Not really...but ride it while you can since I have no idea how this park survives.
Haven’t been there myself, but my brother went last year when he was picking up his student visa before he moved to Japan and most conversations we’ve had around the park are how unsustainable it is. For someone like him who drinks maybe once a year (and it’s never beer), there is virtually zero draw to the park other than AF1. He was fairly certain there weren’t even 20 other people in the park when he went.Am I the only one who been to this park and is not surprised at all?
That’s the EXACT same fate that the FunPlex Myrtle Beach had. They didn’t market it enough, it went belly up after 4 seasons. Kind of ironic if funspot Atlanta’s Hook n Slice, FROM the FunPled Myrtle Beach, goes under with it. It will have seen the closure of two parks.ALL they needed to do was market the place to locals. When I was there, nobody knew the park let alone a 13 million dollar world class coaster even existed there. That's a huge problem.

If its possible, someone will. An all-steel, recently-built, elite RMC at a discount is an extremely rare opportunity. I'm already bored at work so I'm gonna make a shortlist of parks that A. Have the space, B. Have the gap in their lineup, and C. Have the means to buy and transport it.Would actually be a real shame if no one does buy AF1 from them. It’s an elite ride…
Holiday World, Lost Island, COTAland & Adventureland are a few parks that come to mindIf its possible, someone will. Yeah honestly. Great Adventure would make a ton of sense for thatI was thinking Holiday World too but I don't think they have the space.
Lost Island, though, would be interesting (but likely not feasible financially). My money would be on Herschend if anyone grabs it. Although I think SFGrAdv would be the best fit. Welcome back Great American Scream Machine
