This is going to sound really petty but if they end up scrapping Arieforce I genuinely hope people stop financially supporting fun spot
Not sure that a fair stans. I mean to the best of my knowledge there has never been an RMC relocation and their construction style makes me question how easily one could be done. Obviously a ground up one like this one would be easier then a conversion but still I am not sure how easily It could happen.

If they contacted RMC Im sure they could make it happen…

The mid-2020's I think will be seen as one of the most transformative, not-on the-bingo card periods in theme park history. Events like these are particularly sad because they used to happen in a seemingly slower motion. The number of "BAM, its toast" moments for parks/rides is noticeable, and really marks a time when we as park-goers really need to remind ourselves that planned visits almost anywhere "next time/ season" truly may not come to be the way we thought. My next thought of concern is what parks are in danger of redevelopment due to data center proliferation in various states, but that's a whole separate thread...

What's next?? 😟

I split off all of the recent posts about potential relocations for this park's collection to a new thread, here:

Want to try to keep this thread focused on the imminent closure, not theorycrafting potential next steps.

Actually just realized that I’ll be in Charlotte for Djo and Carowinds on the final day of operation. Damn shame my friend and I can’t extend our trip and that it’s not open for like 1 more day.

Considering driving the 15 hours each way to make a trip on the final weekend. Either that or an enthusiast AirBnB

Fun Spot literally had this park in the bag.

ALL they needed to do was market the place to locals. When I was there, nobody knew the park let alone a 13 million dollar world class coaster even existed there. That's a huge problem.

Cheap beer, open late, cheaper than Six Flags, no parking fees, world class coaster - in this economy, people would eat that shit up in a heartbeat.

Its a damn shame Orlando management was so incompetent when they bought this park expecting it to bring millions of dollars without any marketing. 0.001% of the population cannot support a park like this. It needs locals to come regularly.

And its so weird. Orlando markets their parks literally everywhere. Why couldn't they do the same in Atlanta.
I also have to place some blame on locals for sleeping on it. But Fun Spot also needed to do more follow-up at the park. At the least, some beautification, e.g. pavement removal. Maybe there was a budget for this that got absorbed when they needed to upgrade the parking lot to satisfy the gov't, the new lot looked better than the park. The park layout was also very improvement-unfriendly and AF1's placement made that even worse. Also should have added fans to the building so you actually cool off rather than just not die. Warning to anyone going, it will probably be unbelievably hot; if I go it will be weather-based.

The place also had things worth doing other than AF1, but not worth going there for. Save your fumes tolerance for the Samson multilevel karts, fantastic.

As to relocating AF1, has to be way cheaper than starting from scratch, even if just removing the track and building new supports. Best place for it would be nowhere nearby or affiliated.

I ended up missing Ka, and I'm not going to make Arie either. I'm headed down the weekend of the 17th, where I'll be meeting up with my coaster homie. We'll both be hitting Over Georgia for the first time too, which I'm really excited about. I hope you all get a chance to ride Arie if you can!

My wallet is going to hate me so much, but money comes and money goes. Coasters are only here for such a short time, so you've got to make the most of the opportunity while you can.

I’d make the trip if I didn’t have other (and frankly, far more important) travel plans within the next month. If it gets relocated, I’ll make damn sure I ride it (provided it’s within the country), but until then it’ll end up being a near miss. I intended to go on August 16th.
