RE: Full Service Restaurant?

They don't seem to have a problem with it at Islands of Adventure's table service restaurants- people were tipping just as you'd expect them to. I'm pretty sure that if they make it feel like a table service restaurant, people will tip without a second thought.

According to BGT's upper end management they have to fight to keep Colonly House upper level as full service. The same individual stated in a rather sure manner that BGW will not be getting one. Profit margin is near zero compared to QS. The same has also been heard from managers in this area. We shall see. I for one could hope for nothing but it however the whispers that have caught my ear point away from it.

RE: Full Service Restaurant?

Well why is the park putting up a posting for a wait staff position that allows them to make tips? I am pretty sure it wasn't a mistake.

RE: Full Service Restaurant?

An opening for a waitress means nothing. There are none and have been no openings for support TS positions. As stated before, there could be some form of VIP service coming. Too much is missing for TS.

RE: Full Service Restaurant?

Well, my first though was a wait staff for the VIP and Reserved seating concert buffets, or something along those lines.

EDIT: On BGWJobs.com it specifically says, "our full-service restaurant" and it also says "immediately available"; however if you go up to the tab, it says, "Culinary Operations Business Intern" It is weird though.

RE: Full Service Restaurant?

And that is all it would ever amount to. There is NO money in a sitdown for theme park like BGW or BGT. When it comes to 30-40 families with paid QS meals per every one family of paid TS then they are not going to do it. If Colony was not such a huge fan favorite at BGT then it would be LONG gone.

RE: Full Service Restaurant?

Firstly, what is QS and TS. Secondly, it specifically say full service restaurant. It would be like false advertisement if it weren't.

RE: Full Service Restaurant?

Full service is just bringing food to a table. It could be for a special event or package. Your interpretation is a bit skewed and you seem to be ignoring facts by replacing them with wants.

RE: Full Service Restaurant?

Well, I guess the question is now, why are they needed immediately if the park isn't open yet?

RE: Full Service Restaurant?

they aren't...it looks like a standard application with no timeframe mentioned

http://careers.seaworldparks.com/Scripts/PartTimeSeasonal/OpeningDetail.aspx?title=abenlmjh&locationID=1004&prev=%7e%2fScripts%2fPartTimeSeasonal%2fOpeningsList.aspx%3flocationID%3d1004

but you have to remember...getting in, trained and ready to go will take about 3-4 weeks depending on their schedule...so yea "immediately" meaning the park opens in less than a month...I can see that

RE: Full Service Restaurant?

No, they are needed now (it says that on the bgwjobs site), and they are needed right now because they probably want to have the restaurant open with the park and guess what, that's 3 weeks away!!! The reason they waited this long? Could be anything from a behind schedule project to just wanting us to not know that they are opening a full service restaurant... could be anything

EDIT: Sorry, Just saw your other post

RE: Full Service Restaurant?

Actually, training could probably only take a few hours, for one individual. They could train 10 individuals a day for about 3-4 hours. They could probably get training done in a weekend or two. However, there could be a reason for posting the job so close to opening. Perhaps, it is a surprise project that they didn't want to make aware to those of us that stalk the internet for any new things they do?

Training takes MUCH longer than just a few hours, in all reality if you're not consistently being retrained while on the job, someone else isn't doing their job.

RE: Full Service Restaurant?

No one can ever get fully trained, but trained just enough to do the job takes only a few hours... the rest of training is in experience

No.

If you want chaos, sure a few hours would be just fine.
Also, we are talking about BGW here... a place that is critiqued quite a bit. They would want more than /just enough/.

RE: Full Service Restaurant?

Well I still wouldn't doubt the guy who works there (Party Rocker) seeing he has gone through training for his job... and I know a boat load of other people who work there and they have told me that they get 3-4 days of 4 hour training and yes, they do run the rides after 12 hours of training... What keeps all the workers sane is the large numbers of supervisors and employees that have worked at the park before and know how things run and can help you if you get into trouble.
