Simply from observing the back of the angel statue, it appears it was designed to be up against a wall but they had it out in the open before. Good change, IMO.

Finally got to see it in person today. Looked great! It Will be even better when the crepe and coffee stand is open.

France has turned into my favorite renovation in years. I love the Emporium, but I am just blown away by how beautiful France is.

I am proud of Busch Gardens. Proud.. and thrilled that the time and effort was spent on making the area look timeless.

I completely agree with Nora. Besides that, when you really think about it, it doesn't seem like a massive expenditure on their part, and you've restored vibrancy to an aging hamlet just like that. I mean, really the only large change is the cafe.

Really hoping we see more of this, though I can't decide where I'd like them to go next. I don't count Festa because that renovation is in a completely different league than this.

Some more Aquitaine renovation pictures and much more can be found here. Enjoy!

Those are some nice touches to Aquitaine!

Now if they'd only bring back the Ghirardelli and Lindt chocolate shop....

Too bad they don't have it in the budget to make the rooftops copper, because then over time, they'd get that green patina that looks amazing....

I am not too keen about keeping those vines around like that. They seem very distracting and very over the top. They took a good renovation and then turned it bad with just this one change. Other than that, I find the renovations fine.

Sorry guys, I have to completely disagree....France is Wine.....and Wine IS France. If any of you have visited France before & went to the Bordeaux region, you will find that wine grape vines are EVERYWHERE & this is exactly what they will be getting in another season or two.

This is the kind of transformation for France that this hamlet needs. We've spent God knows how much time whining (no pun intended) about how they're not doing anything with it, and now they're DOING something to make it look like a wine-producing province & you all call it an eyesore?? To me, there's nothing more beautiful than a fully grown wine grape field....Whoever came up with this idea was a genius. It's sure as hell better than leaving France to be that hamlet that we all just pass through on our way to Germany. (Except to stop and ride Griffon)

Give it a chance to grow & you will love it. I promise.

The real grape vines are fantastic. I said a few weeks back that Aquitaine was, in my opinion, perfect. I could count the list of things I've said are perfect at the park on my fingers. They finally got everything looking, simply, amazing. I don't understand why they felt the need to add to it. The new vines distract the eye from the newly renovated centerpiece of the hamlet, La Belle Maison. The entire area looks horrendously busy now. I don't know if the park understands this, but you don't need theming in every inch of an area to create a quality, themed atmosphere. In fact, doing so can become overwhelming and actually break the immersion of an area. That's what has happened here.

Give it a chance is all I'm saying....I'm sure they'll cull out any "extra", but it's amazing to me they haven't done this kind of thing for years and FINALLY they're doing something to make the place look more "charming" than it has since we were all kids.

Give it a chance.

Indy, we all love what they did with the place we really do. What we hate are just the faux Food & Wine Festival vines. They can go. Everything else is amazing. You don't need faux vines to make the area more complete.

It's a glass of wine that they just don't stop filling and now you have wine pouring out of the glass and all over the table. Too much is too much sometimes.

Hey, they gotta do something to make up for getting rid of those LeMans cars to make way for Griffon.......bastards. I for one reveled in the constant droning sound those things made all day long, dragging on a cigarette (because we could do that wherever in the park back then) and speaking French to my wife & children. Now......

All I hear is screaming from that ride. No ambience whatsoever. Finally they bring back some semblance of a French village, even if it IS a tad bit overdone (I'll agree), but still it is better than having done nothing at all.

Let's look at the bright side. They listened to us. We complained about the lack of, well.....ANYTHING in France, and for better or worse, this is what they've done. Sure, maybe less foliage would be better, but I'll be damned if I'm gonna complain about TOO MUCH going on in that regard. Maybe they just want to see what works & what doesn't.

Or maybe they're just waiting for me to give them the rant from hell in French....(And you do NOT want that! I can be a mean bastard when I speak angry French!!) lol
MERDE! MERDE MERDE!!!!!!!!!
