What is a turn off for me is the idea of having classes or types of forum users with specific designated places for them to post via their style/ability. That, by its very nature, is divisive to a community. It can foster contempt for different groups or classes, with each differing class thinking less of the other (Look to problems in real-world society for examples).

Off topic rants in random threads where discussion is happening with pertinence to a certain topic hurts the integrity of the forums. Simply put.

If people cannot stay on topic and feel the need to interject with countless memes or offtopic worthless banter. Ban em. Offtopic section is there for a reason.

I think it is also tricky to define "relevant."

Holding pertinence to the topic of the thread, maybe? Not exactly like it is a difficult topic. Even though it seems to be to some.

How about tagging forum users in posts? I for one see sometimes how people will call on someone specific in a forum to see if they can add to the "discussion" or solve a question and I think it would be nice to be able to tag someone and they get notified like a PM, but publicly.

Is it something we can try to see if it will get annoying? I mean, I'd really like to do some research to see if it is something that we can use, if we might overuse it, or underuse it like the report button.

The thing is, Zachary and the other site staff actually have lives. I for one think that would be too much; it would add a lot of junk and overall confusion to the forums. Something that makes the ParkFans Forum unique is its relative simplicity and its lack of buttons on each post that look like Mission Control. So, something that would detract from the site is something I'm sure Zachary would not want to waste his time doing for the sake of being "something we can try to see if it will get annoying."

No offense, PR. That's not necessarily aimed at you. :) It's just my take.

You should see an Admin login. A whole lot more buttons show up...

If you're asking me to become an admin, then I accept. :p

I've used it on WDWmagic, if that counts for anything

but they have a notification system as well

The biggest difference there is how it is rolled in with the software. What you see here is a ton of hardwork on the part of Swift to make this software better. It probably is one of the best incarnations of freeware for forums on the net. Even with all his hard work there are certain limitations that simply just cannot be broken.

What about using the favicon for the ParkFans forums as the ParkFans icon, like how BGWFans has Big Ben, BGTFans has the giraffe, and KDFans has the Eiffel tower, ParkFans can have the coaster loop.

I herby suggest that multiple thanks should be instituted for select posts. Now we know it is possible, so lets do it!

Errr all that would do is enable the people who use it to make their argument because they are incapable of forming it in their own posts.
