England has always been just an entrance and exit point. All it really contains is shops, guest relations, adventure photo, and some food places. I am perfectly fine with having it just the way it is. It gives the park a kind of completed feel. Like, if England was more than just an entrance and exit, I'd feel like everything was just too rushed upon me as I entered and like I haven't done everything as I exit. I like the nice kind of pass through area feel it provides.

Nora, can you give me just a little more insight in how the Haloumi (sp?) and the Tzatziki skewer tasted? What else in the world could you compare it to tasting like just so I can have an idea.... Because those two are pretty much in my top 5 that I have to try. I would have tried the beef sampler, but I cannot STAND horseradish sauce.

Ok- Haloumi -hmmm... The cheese is white, with a distinctive layered texture, similar to mozzarella and has a salty flavor (Like Goat cheese). This cheese has a high melting point so can be griddled or grilled to make a more firm and cooked flavor and texture.

Imagine mozzarella/goat cheese grilled until brown- covered in honey with a crunchy pistachio crumble on top. It is hard to explain as it is a classic Mediterranean flavor with very distinctive characteristics that are not found in many dishes.

Check this out if you want more info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halloumi

Goes great with the Elios White wine (FYI)

I agree about the horseradish. The beef in Austria is really good- but if you are not a fan of Horseradish- best to try the Schnitzelwich. I heard it was very good!

Alright....gonna have to pair down my list a bit. Haloumi & the Tzatziki skewer are still on the list. So is Currywurst & the Vichyssoise soup. I hope my girlfriend picks other dishes so we can just share off each other. But there will be NO SHARING on my German Beer flight. Uh uh....hahaha

Well that figures....the 2 Greek things you reviewed ended up being the WORST dishes I ate at the park. They definitely served mine up a WHOLE lot different. Check out my review & the pic of both of these samplers AS THEY WERE SERVED to me. Untouched. Absolutely terrible. The rest was pretty good all around the park.

Got to meet Kerri Morris this evening. Such a sweet lady. Check out these creations:

At the park now. The booths seem to be getting a ton more traffic than they were before. There's actually a few lines.

I got pictures of 2 of the 3 things I've tried so far today but I don't have either of my normal cameras with me so they're taken on my Nexus 4. They'll get posted someday. :p

I can only hope they improved the souvlaki skewers at Greece since my now infamous review on them. Those things had the potential to be the runaway favorite food item in the entire park.

Alright, I HAVE to get some sleep for my flight outta here back to New York in the morning. Such a horrible life, having to fly business class on Emirates Airlines. lol

I really am sad your Tzatziki souvlaki skewers skewer was not up to par. Mine was fantastic. I was also there the very first day when I tried it. The next day my husband ordered it, but it was low on the Tzatziki sauce.

If there is a perfect balance it is like getting a skewer of lovely flavors on a stick and a salad with dressing; which is what I had.

I hope this issue you had does not reoccur, because the taste of the dish was fabulous.

Have a safe flight and enjoy all that yummy New York food!

Not at all...no worries. I've been having a BALL here in Dubai w/the food ranging from stuff the locals eat, to the absolutely amazing food that they serve on the airplane. It really has been my own personal F&W festival these past few days for sure. (And I only went to McDonald's once!)

I am positive that the food next year should they choose to do another F&W festy (and they better!!) will be even better than this year. :)

And for sure, the TASTE of the Greece food was actually not the issue. It tasted great, but the preparation & presentation was sorely lacking. At least on the day I went.

Having said all that, overall, there were several hits & misses at the festy. I don't want to sound like a prognosticator or anything, but I truly anticipate them keeping the Schnitzelwich on the permanent menu somewhere in Germany. They HAVE to do that. :)

Awww the Schnitzelwich! I so wanted to try that! Alas, too much gluten for my system. It looked so good though. I need someone to order it next to me so I can smell it and try to imagine what it would taste like. :(

^
Haven't been too bad.

Also, some F&WF merchandise...a...umm humm... t-shirt!!
