I'm iffy on the salmon because I don't typically like fish, except for good ol' fish sticks :p But I am actually seriously giving it heavy consideration to try it.

Try it, that's the whole point of the Food and Wine Festival. To get Party Rocker to expand his food horizons! (Y)

(and to take all my monies)

Good - I was starting to wonder when press would come out about this since it starts so soon. Looks great and I'm soooo excited to finally experience it this year (and miss actually having an alcoholic beverage by days... ugh)

Just saw two on my favorite dishes are gone.  The classic French soup Vichyssoise (pronounced "vish·ē·swäz") and my favorite dish last year from Austria.. Talfelspitz mit Apfelkren.  This is a shame.  Perhaps they were a bit too "European" for the average guest.. But I was sincerely looking forward to heading to France and Austria.  Hopefully the sirloin dish replacing the Vichyssoise dish is gluten free.  In fact..  I hope BGW has a list of allergen friendly selections in their handout this year.

By the way- if anyone wants to see how Tafelspitz is made- it takes around 4+ hours. To make it yourself, it takes some skill. You can see it here:  http://www.nytimes.com/recipes/10931/tafelspitz-austrian-boiled-beef-with-apple-horseradish.html  That is why I wish dishes like this remained on the menu as they are not easily made at home, nor found at nearby restaurants.

Of course I would love to have recommended (had BGW kept Austria) "Champignonrahmschnitzel vom Schwein mit Spätzle" It is Schnitzel with mushroom cream sauce and noodles.  (see pic)  schmeckt sehr gut!

Well they did move the schnitzel to the German booth, so I think it is safe to say if they could still add a mushroom cream sauce and noodles.

I am actually looking forward to the sirloin dish. I need to make a list of all the foods I hope to try.

I looked over the entire menu last night and It took quite a while. I have made my choices of things to try. The standouts for me......2nd option German beer Flight, The New France Mac-n-cheese with breaded Canadian bacon, the sirloin dish, and the Scotland breaded sausage covered egg. There were a couple more, but all in all, I was expecting to see more that I wanted to try. I'm not saying there isn't enough, just that I wont be trying alot of it. Meat and potatoes guy here^ :)

Here is my list of things that peak my immediate interest. Though I feel skeptical about trying some of them.

I saw an advertisement for the F&WF on the tv screens in the Apollo's Chariot line queue today. I think that I saw them advertised at another ride too.

I didn't get to try this last year due to moving so what should I try? Also, does the park do anything for Gluten free people? My mom is a little cautious about this due to her allergies.

While in the park over the weekend, I would have expected to see some advertising for the festival, however there was none. I spoke with several guests that were confused about the dates. Many thought that the event was only on Memorial Day weekend and they didn't fully understand the concept. BG has started on booth construction in New France and Ireland.

Yeah - I get it. Last year it took me asking all the supervisors at each to find out what was safe or not. I am hoping that this year they have it marked in the little Passport menu they hand out.

Work on the latest both addition has begun. The Scandinavia booth in Ireland is also in the process of being built.
