I hope the also launch TV/ radio commercials and ad campaigns for the area. They need an ad just for the food & wine festival. Locals are who benefit most from the event- why not take advantage of it? Facebook and Social media are great- but they are missing a large section of people that would be interested and have no idea that this is happening at the park.

Look- the issue I see with F&W is that is not advertised properly. I mean- no one can really compete with Epcot- but they know how this works.  They get the marketing aspect of how amazing it is.

They have shirts- pins- beautiful displays.  Anyone walking in cannot miss the event (as seen in attached photos)  And that shirt and lanyard pin- had i been there- they would completely have my money.  I want original Merch- things that are special- things season pass members can get into.

Anyway- about the vines.. yes I agree.  They serve no point as no one is told the vines mean "There is a F&W booth here"  I think the logo of the fork shaped into a wine glass is amazing- so use it.

Have a standee made of this (metal) that holds a "place card" like sign stating "Booth #4" (for example) with the name in bold letters "Belgium" (etc.)  At night they can be lighted clearly.  Not huge a- but large enough to be seen and tasteful and they all look the same.

When ordering items- passports are stamped by the cashier.  (Receipt is still needed for item to be served)   But it would add to the fun of trying to get the most "stamps" on your passport.

Without further ado- here is why Epcot has a massive F&W following. Enjoy...

I don't see this any different than the servers at the Crepe place last year. Are they just hiring more? putting more in different places? That was actually one of my favorite things about the F&W Festival.

People are forgetting what Food Wine Fest is designed to do from a business standpoint. Take a look at EPCOT FW and Flower Garden. FW has made EPCOT a bar, a party place if you will, during the course of the event. Pushing alcohol is the main goal. If this takes off this year or the next they WILL get my coin for sure. Drinking + coasters = pure fun. Dont believe me? Go to EPCOT, drink around the world, ride test track, and ride mission space. Unrivaled experiences.

A park who wants so badly to appeal to families is contradicting itself with events like this as well as bars during HoS. Disagree? Just how many booze stands will the park have total? Point made. It will be a bar with a high cover charge.

I don't care, as long as they don't rape the culinary budget to add these new servers. F&WF was awesome last year, because it focused on the interesting food, and didn't try to distract guests with sparkly objects. People are going to go to the F&WF for the food and drinks. I really hope they are allowed to focus on that aspect of the event.

Yes I agree take away glimmer and shimmer and focus on the food and wine and add more culture aspects to it. That way too you can have the culture host also inform guests of regions of the country where the food and wine is grown and distillers. Also this would be a great way to show off culinary with guests and the Foodies.

This will help with more immersion that park was doing with HOS. I believe too this is a great way to even bring in Nics idea of a tea shop/garden area.

Nic has the best ideas. I love the concept of a tea shop in the garden. I would totally dig that.

About alcohol sales, many families who have kids have parents who enjoy a drink while listening to Elmo sing over and over in Elmo land. For those who do not have kids- like me- it is a nice way to enjoy the park. For me the park is an attraction by itself. I've been so many times, I just enjoy going up to the park to have dinner. The food & wine allows me to have more dining options. I think most adults appreciate a more sophisticated atmosphere when it comes to food and beverages.

No glitter- no sparkle please. European sophistication and class. If I want sparkle, I will go watch Entwined.

I agree Nora I love Nic's idea of tea shop/garden. I think it would work very well into F&WF and even before and after. I think it be awesome to have a English tea time up in BANBURY CROSS. I m sure some people who even visit the park would take advantage of it while even waiting for LR or while waiting on their group up front.

There is a lot they could do with Tea Shop/Garden idea and could showcase culinary, landscaping, and even entertainment departments. During F&WF could serve multiple teas even I'm thinking Earl Grey is the traditional English Tea Time drink.

Nora you are right keep the "make it rain, make it rain throw some glitter and go insane" away from the F&WF, be more about the foodies and culture.

Seen this article (Link) on the parks website about taste tesing for the F&WF.  It explains the menu planning and taste testing that goes into it.  In the last paragraph it states they are going to have an in-park menu test coming up that people can participate in for a small upcharge that will help determine the "best possible menu".  Watch the site for the dates.
