We were some of the first to arrive and the kiosk things weren't working by the tram stop. Walked down to guest services and heard a supervisor inside say the computers hadn't been programmed to give out vouchers on Thursday. They fixed/input whatever was needed and they said they were working.

I hate to keep dumping on BGW. I really do. Went to use the voucher at the French Quarter and the cashier didn't have a clue. After handing him the voucher he said, "That'll be 83 cents". When I said the voucher said the entrée was free he said, "It must be the tax". I questioned it but just handed him a dollar and walked away.

I honestly have to say that as we walked through the park we have basically decided with the continued problems and the heat starting to return it's just not worth it to us. Not sure if and when we will go back.

No one ever at BGW seems to know how things work. Im amazed how many times at the Festhaus I have to show them the button on the register to push for the drink refill and almost demand they scan the cup so it comes out free. Most times they tell me its either .99 or 1.39 to refill a old cup. I also usually ask questions just to see what answer I get....last night at The Festhaus when using my dining plan the cahsier said "that lady in front of you was having all kinds of trouble getting her plan to work, she has been through the line a few times today with it and it dosent want to scan".......this was at about 7:30pm...park opened at 3pm and you only get a meal every 4 hours...do the math. Anyhow I asked "how often can you get a entree?" to which she replied "every 90 minutes" which is wrong.

The edible straws sounds interesting....will definately have to try them.

I think that's the CF/KD dining plan that allows for every 90 minutes?

The shrimp taco from the Mexican booth is very good. Sure fried shrimp isn't hard to do but the Pico slaw is and that is what really makes the dish in my opinion. Also being able to sit behind the bird enclosure and enjoy their chirping while eating really adds to the enjoyment of the booth.

Now if only the closest open drink stand wasn't halfway across the park.
WAIT. THEY BROUGHT BACK THE SHRIMP TACO?!

I am going this weekend. ??

Opservations from tonight, had a reservation but was never asked for it when we entered the park. Saw a sign at the Virginia booth that said booths closed 1 hour prior to park close but at 9:12 when we came by the booth by Trappers it was closed and completely cleaned up and everyone gone, not sure about others. Three Rivers still had a line halfway to the Pottery store. A few more shops were open tonight as was Alpengiest. It was really odd watching the show by Marco Polos but not being able to get any food, desserts or drinks there. Overall a nice night, good crowd bt not packed.

My first visit, I can't remember if they asked for my reservation or not. But on my second visit I was 100% not asked to see it. However, for my third visit I was asked for it (to which I wasn't prepared since I wasn't asked last time for it... bad planning on my part, but I honestly thought it was tied to my pass) and after I couldn't find it, she said she'd just count me as a walk-in (crowds were very light this past Friday anyways).

If I were to purchase one dessert from the Food and Wine menu, which one should I get?

Anything but the Cannoli and Abacaxi. The other desserts in this year's lineup are all typically very well regarded.

The Connoli is normally fine but it's on the normal menu at Marco Polo so, in addition to being unremarkable, it's also just a waste during F&W.

The Abacaxi sucks—always has, always will.

If it were me, I'd get the Pineapple Coconut Mousse. It can be pretty unreliable, but when it's good, it's fucking amazing.

If you're looking for something more consistently good, everyone seems to love the Beignets, and with good reason. They've been really reliably good in my experience.
