We didn't have a long wait for FF on Sunday, despite their only running one arm. Perhaps it extends the service life of the equipment, if they don't use both sides, when the park isn't very busy?

This is the best possible explanation yet. The arms are probably rated in number of swings before certain maintenance functions need to be performed. So rather than potentially run with both arms half empty it's better to use one and delay forced shutdowns for maintenance.

I was at the park on Saturday. Only the orange arm was operating and it went down numerous times throughout the day. I got back in line right before park close, and only about an hour after it went down previously. I was at the front of the queue and would have been the next on, but it went down again at 10:30. The ride operators were clearly frustrated as it happened many times throughout the day. At first they offered to allow us to wait to ride until an engineer got there, but ended up offering "readmittance tickets" to everyone who waited it out that long.

They said that the teeth that lock together in the restraint and their sensors kept faulting throughout the day and seemed to be a consistent problem. They said the green arm was down because it consistently gave them problems the day before. I asked about the ride manufacturer and they also shared that currently the issues are being blamed on the heavy rainfall.

I'm still patiently awaiting my first ride on FF and hope this doesn't become a consistent problem. Has anyone gotten a readmittance ride ticket before? I assume it works similarly to quick queue.

Thanks for this report @brighteyeguy sorry to hear that you haven't gotten to ride.

Twice when I've ridden a group before me had a restraint sensor go off. It's rough before to reset they have to undo every restraint and start from scratch.

Both times I've seen it happen the reset work and subsequent rides went without a hitch. This is the first I've heard of recurring troubles.

I'm sure the manufacturer will be working on a rapid solution and hopefully can be resolved in a way this won't be a trend.

Hope you get to ride soon.

Remits are basically just single use qq.

Source? This directly contradicts what another person said earlier and he had a lot more details about where he got the info. so....

Actually, I can see the theory in effect. Brown to blend into the trees. Grey(ish) to blend into the sky. Still, I think it's 1 too many colors.
Paint the stone all the way up to grey, or the grey all the way down to the stone... 'cause from most angles it just looks unfinished, to me.

Both sides were running yesterday. The staff seemed to be moving folks through the queue pretty well too. I rode it twice (once each direction) and enjoyed it quite a bit. I wasn't too sure about it at first but it is a fun ride.

I could go with one more big swing before the ride ends, but obviously that would only lengthen the amount of time you have to stand in line to ride it.

Finnegan's was completely down this morning.. about to head back that way to see if it's back up. : Sad face:

Okay I just went by. They had two guys posted out front taking questions. They said, and I quote, "this ride is a 'piece of work'".

Apparently, not only are the compressor issues back, now the wheels that turn the pendulum are also having issues.

They said they've been told it'll be down all day tomorrow too.

If this were an engineering project for a public road, they'd have been able to size the overflow for 100-year maximum flood levels.

Of course, this isn't a public road, so we got what we got.
